Fox Vs Duck – PLAY, FOR DUCK’S SAKE

Update: Our review of Fox Vs Duck is now up on TMA.

Back in the day when eat or be eaten ruled our insular universe, things were easy. Now, flesh and blood contend with the following: work or starve, bib or drool, stripes or polka dots – it ain’t easy. Fox VS Duck, a Zen-like game, aims to bring that simplicity back to gamers’ lives. Fox VS Duck comes from the same brilliant minds who brought us MiniSquadron. MrFungFung have this to say about their upcoming game:

It’s all about addictive, hypnotic gameplay in a stunningly elegant zen environment. We invite you to take part in Fox Vs Duck, a quirky and poetic game of Prey and Predator, of Life and Death.

TMA has reviewed Fox Vs Duck which is out now:

Hero to land on the iPhone – Chillingo insinuated

“It’s a lonely place”, says the mysterious hero whose fame, brought on by saving the world from tanks, aliens and zombies may have sunk his otherwise indefatigable spirits. Chillingo have kept tight-lipped as to their involvement in the creation of this superhuman, but the ever-vigilant TouchMyApps team are picking through the rubble of falling rumours now.

It appears that the ‘hero’ may be crazy, a larger than life character too caught up in his role, in the carnage he dealt. We will find out more later this month when Hero’s story is expected to debut at the App Store. Till then, hang tight with these images and interview.

Final Fantasy – Finally coming to the iPhone and iPod Touch

Nothing can stop the juggernaut that is Final Fantasy. It is the RPG most perched on the top rung of anime RPG fans’ list of favourites. Not only does it play cute, it plays with incredible stories which laugh at the best creations of its rivals. Thankfully, we have a lot to look forward to as both Final Fantasy I and II are headed to the iDevice. Shall we sing collective fanfare now, or wait till after dindin? I am of the opinion that even Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars may find a shady spot to rest in till the Final Fantasy news cools down. UPDATE: FINAL FANTASY I & II have been released!

FINAL FANTASY SQUARE ENIX Co., LTD., FINAL FANTASY – $8.99

FINAL FANTASY II SQUARE ENIX Co., LTD., FINAL FANTASY II – $8.99

Let’s hope the legendary Square Enix outdoes itself.

2360: Battle for Cydonia – finger fire coming soon!

Get ready for finger fire in Brisk Mobile’s new game: 2360: Battle for Cydonia. Yep, the badboys who brought us Fluffy Farm and Medieval are preparing to lower the temperature of iPhone gaming to cold steel. Battle for Cydonia is a touch-based shooter with a mix of tap-and-drag and line drawing control elements for frantic fire fighting. There will also be loads of missions and customisations/upgrades for the heavy mecha at players’ disposal. While our spies can reveal little else, we do know that it should hit App Store shelves later this month or early next. Oh yes, and that it looks hella’ fun.

Till then, enjoy the video and do as I do: salivate.

Sims3 World Adventure – Safari-ing its way to the iDevice

Sims3 is already a great game for the iDevice. But EA aren’t about to stop with fishing and baking. The Sims3 World Adventure will bring a host of new features to the simulation franchise including: famous destinations, loads of new goals, much more custom content, and the ability to import your favourite characters from Sims3! Look for it at the App Store … sometime. We will keep you posted.

In the meantime, read TMA’s review of Sims3 and if you haven’t already, download it!

Upcoming GameResort Flyer

GameResort, creators of the unique bowling title Downhill Bowling (a game we enjoyed immensely and gave a “Grab It” rating) has dropped by TouchMyApps to let us know about an upcoming and yet to be titled game that indeed looks very promising. The game will be launched with 2 game modes:

Arcade: Defend the island against waves of enemies, shoot down as many as you can to collect the maximum amount of points. Enemy ships spawn crates when shot down. You can pick up the crates and drop them on a specific target for additional points.

Race: There are 9 different track configurations around the island. You have to fly through a series of hoops in sequence and complete 3 laps as fast as possible. The same mechanics as in arcade mode apply (shooting down targets, pickup/drop crates) but they give you a time bonus instead of points.

I have also been told that the controls will be ‘casual’: accelerometer to steer, a button to fire, a button to drop the crates (when available). The game should making its way into the App Store sometime this month and we’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for this sweet looking arcade shooter.
