Earlier today, Apple officially announced that the iPhone 4 will be available in 17 more countries this Friday, July 30th. And with just a few days away from launch, CBC news is reporting that Apple will also be selling unlocked iPhone 4s for $659 (16GB) and $779 (32 GB). Having an unlocked iPhone 4 would of course mean that owners will no longer be tied down to a 3 year term and can choose which of the major carriers (Fido, Rogers, Bell and Telus etc.) they’d like to go with. Aside from the iPhone 4, Canada is already selling unlocked 3GSes (8 GB) for $549.
Here are the 17 countries that will be selling the iPhone 4 come July 30th:
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
If you live in one of these countries, consider yourself lucky that you don’t have to wait until September before Apple commences its third wave of iPhone 4 launch.
