Squids Wild West in Review – The Good, The Bad, or the Ugly?

Everyone’s favourite squids have ridden their way back into our palms in The Game Bakers latest entry into the cult classic Squids franchise. Squids Wild West continues the story of the first game (TMA Review) and pulls the setting into an adorable underwater Western world. The Game Bakers have stuck to what they know, which in this case is a very good thing. While little has changed from Squids, subtle improvements have been made to the game’s fluidity, along with minor introductions such as mounted seahorses for your squid-slinging pleasure.

Broken Sword – The Smoking Mirror: Remastered in Review – The shard may be mightier than the sword

In my interview with Charles Cecil (creator of Broken Sword: Director’s Cut) I asked him about the chance of other BS games coming to the iDevice. At that point he was still uncertain, but with the success and acclaim for his superb ports, it’s no wonder he followed through. And while Broken Sword – The Smoking Mirror does not boast the additional content of the first, the sequel has enough neat tricks, tweaks and updates to make it shine anew on the iDevice platform.

Armageddon Wars in Review – Turn-based holocaust is here!

Turn-based strategy games are not the most populated genre on the AppStore, despite being ideal for the iDevice. At the same time the majority of the titles that do get released end up of decent quality. And some are downright excellent, like the recent Highborn (TMA Review) or the superb Rogue Planet (TMA Review). But which category does Armageddon Wars fall into?
