Today is certainly shaping up to a busy day in the “Free for a day” department. First we saw Last Front: Europe and Age of Tribes go FREE earlier this morning. Now, Tag Games’ well received Astro Ranch has also joined the party and can be had gratis. Here’s what shigzeo said in his review of the game:
Astro Ranch is nearly a full-on throwback to those (old-school console gaming) days – it looks, sounds, and mostly, plays great and is as addictive as it is absurd. It is a quasi-RPG simulation about farming and friendship and is as fun as a barrel of montkeys (play it and you’ll see why this ain’t a splelling mistake)…RPG, rancher, macro-manager, Astro Ranch does it all.
Needless to say, those who’re into farming and management games should definitely hit Astro Ranch ASAP. And while we’re at it, be sure to check out our earlier Freebies round up if you missed it – lots of quality games are still showing up as Free on the App Store.
Put your 300 pennies away this weekend and spend it on something that will make you look pretty. Tag Games’ hit, Car Jack Streets (CJS) will be free the entire weekend, starting … on the weekend. While the weekend has various connotations depending on your station in life; that is to say, for university students, weekends start after Thursday’s Pub Night is over, and for office workers in Seoul, the weekend is that space between 3am and 6am on Sunday mornings. For the rest of us, let’s just hope that Tag Games are not Korean.
Take a look at TMA’s exhaustive CJS review and then go for it – no harm in downloading a free app! But if you cannot wait, by all means, whip back out your 300 coppers and have at it a bit early.
Sleepless nights and whirling marble shooters do not mix well, but they are the fare by which I stay somewhat sober. Tumblebugs, a game which I am loath to call a Blackbeard clone, is a new game by Connect2Media and Tag Games which will have you spinning like mad. What 35 million PC users have already discovered is that it is fun, but not easy to save the bug world from the evil dominion of the black bug and his legions.
The ever popular Car Jack Streets (CJS) has just gotten better with its first update and more promised to come. 1.1 brings heaps and heaps of improvements and accordind to TagGames, stability. Everyone who owns this game should update as soon as possible (and remember to restart your iDevice to eliminate OS memory errors). The next update is scheduled for a release in June by an eager Paul and Team. Take a look at our detailed and very fair review of CJS 1.0. Also, keep an eye out for an updated review based on the features of 1.1.
Fans of the Grand Theft Auto series who own an iDevice have been praying to the gaming gods to deliver onto them a similar experience. When it comes to handheld gaming, the Sony PSP and most recently the Nintendo DS owners of the world have had their prayers answered. But for the now roughly 38 million multi-touch Apple device owners, they are still waiting.
Yeah, a little YouTubing around the ol’ world wide web and I happened on a few exciting videos that prove Tag Games are really up to something beyond hyping a product that Apple are holding onto! Well, we all knew that anyway, but this four-part video diary gets dirty with plot, design, music and gameplay and what really sets Car Jack apart from both its competitors and its forbears.
In the tradition of GTA, Car Jack Streets (CJS) is a sandbox RPG littered with carnage, death, loads of nefarious opportunities and controversy. Developer, Tag Games, are not new to to the App Store nor mobile gaming, but this mercenary driving game will be their first big hype title to hit the iDevice download shelf. Even Payback maker, Apex Games have jumped the gun and released their own competitive, “welcome” to Tag Games – more details to follow. In any event, TouchMyApps is ready to parade some of the sights and sounds of CJS that are sure to draw attention.
