First released back in 2002 on the PS2, the follow up to the first ever 3D GTA has arrived on iOS and Android in form of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City 10th Anniversary Edition.
From the decade of big hair, excess and pastel suits comes a story of one man’s rise to the top of the criminal pile. Vice City, a huge urban sprawl ranging from the beach to the swamps and the glitz to the ghetto, was one of the most varied, complete and alive digital cities ever created. Combining open-world gameplay with a character driven narrative, you arrive in a town brimming with delights and degradation and given the opportunity to take it over as you choose.
Welcome to Liberty City. Where it all began.
Rockstar Games celebrates the 10th anniversary of one of the most influential games of all time. The critically acclaimed blockbuster Grand Theft Auto III comes to mobile devices, bringing to life the dark and seedy underworld of Liberty City. With a massive and diverse open world, a wild cast of characters from every walk of life and the freedom to explore at will, Grand Theft Auto III puts the dark, intriguing and ruthless world of crime at your fingertips.
GTA III was one of my favorite games on the PS2, and with updated graphics and optimized touch screen controls, there’s no reason not to pick this classic up. I was able to squeeze in an hour of play this morning, and so far it’s been an absolute blast. The good ol’ Liberty City memories are all flooding back. The game is universal and supports the most recent iDevices: iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod Touch 4, iPad 1 and iPad 2. Check out the video trailer and gameplay demo after the gap.

Grand Theft Auto III: 10 Year Anniversary Edition coming to iPhone, iPad and Android on December 15th
Rockstar Games announced earlier today that the Grand Theft Auto III: 10 Year Anniversary Edition port will be released on select iDevices and Android phones on December 15th. Ten years after its original release, a whole new generation of gamers who missed out on this iconic Rockstar title can finally play it on their mobile phones. Thankfully, it’ll be compatible with single core iPhones and iPads, so even those without an iPhone 4S or iPad 2 can still run the game on their devices. The launch price is set at $4.99, which is certainly on the reasonable side. Check out the list of supported phones/tablets below, along with the intro trailer and screenshots.
Apple iOS Devices: iPad 1 & 2, iPhone 4 & 4S, iPod touch 4th Generation
Android Phones: HTC Rezound, LG Optimus 2x, Motorola Atrix 4G, Motorola Droid X2, Motorola Photon 4G, Samsung Galaxy R, T-Mobile G2x

There has been so much said and written about the GTA series that it basically needs no introduction. On the iPhone, the concept has been tried a number of times – from the god awful (imo) Payback and rather solid Car Jack Streets to the downright clone Gangstar. And now, finally, the king has entered the App Store.
It’s now safe to say that Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars has made its debut on all three major portable gaming platforms: DS, PSP, and now the iDevice. Though it’s unexpected, we iDevice gamers are a happy, lucky lot. Hopefully, Rockstar won’t pull an Assassin’s Creed II: Discovery scenario and yank the game from the App Store after too few short hours.
Piccies and more fun after the gap:
Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars will be the franchise’s first story-driven GTA game for the iPhone. Yes, that is right, the series which inspired Payback, Gangstar, and Car Jack Streets, will hit the iDevice like a six-shooter this fall.
