Readdle, the dev team behind some of my favorite and most used productivity/business apps on the iDevice, has just turned 5 and is celebrating by offering their entire iOS catalogue at up to 70% off. Here’s a quick breakdown of several must have apps: Scanner Pro turns your iPhone and iPad into a digital scanner and is hands down the best I’ve tried to date (now $1.99); Calendars is a great looking and fully featured google calendar client (now $1.99); ReaddleDocs for the iPhone and iPad, an all-in-on file manager that no iDevice should be without (now $0.99); and Remarks, an iPad only app that lets you create notes and annotate imported PDFs (now $0.99). The birthday sale is only good for 48 hours, so be sure to check out the rest of the links below, along with a funky Readdle turns 5 video.
The App Store’s littered with scanner apps and my favorite of the lot (and one of the apps I use most on iOS) – Scanner Pro — has received a 4.1 update. First up is a redesigned interface for the iPhone, which brings it closer to that of the iPad in terms of look and feel and user experience. Secondly, and more importantly, Readdle has implemented iCloud support for users with multiple iDevices. As such, all my receipts and docs can finally sync between my iPhone and iPad, making it immensely more convenient when accessing scans. From my brief tests, iCloud sync worked perfectly and it was a matter of several seconds before new scans from one device were uploaded to the other. If you’re serious about going paperless or simply want to store your business receipts digitally, Scanner Pro is fully featured and worth the $6.99 price tag.
 Readdle, Scanner Pro – $6.99
Scanner Pro, one of the most popular portable document scanner and business apps for the iPhone, is now compatible with the iPad (2nd and 3rd gen) thanks to the 4.0 update today. Redesigned from the ground up, users can finally take snap shots of their receipts, documents and notes and turn them into PDFs on their iPads. Scans can also be uploaded to Dropbox, Evernote (add tags and choose notebooks) and GoogleDocs for added convenience. Also new are the revamped processing engine (image processing is even faster now), folder management and ability to search by name and date. The Scanner Pro 4 update is now available and free for those who’ve already purchased the app, or $6.99 for new users.
 Readdle, Scanner Pro – $6.99
ReaddleDocs, one of the most popular and versatile file manager apps for the iPhone, has just been updated to version 3.1.
ReaddleDocs is all-in-one document reader for iPhone and iPod Touch.
It can catch documents from any source you can imagine: PC or Mac computers, web sites, email attachments, iDisk, Dropbox and other online file storages and even iPhones. All files are saved to your iPhone or iPod Touch locally so you can enjoy reading them anywhere!
Among it’s most obvious change is the complete redesign of the interface, which quite frankly, looks significantly better than the previous versions. Other additions include a now separate iCloud Tab, a new Recents folder and playlists support and background mode for its MP3 player. This update is now available on the App Store and free for those who’ve already purchased it. Otherwise, this excellent file manager will set you back $4.99. Full list of “What’s new” can be found below.
 Readdle, ReaddleDocs – $4.99
No doubt one of the more common uses of the iPad is to take notes during a business meeting or class/lecture. Readdle, makers of the popular ReaddleDocs and PDF Expert apps, has just released Remarks – a productivity tool that lets you jot notes (with keyboard or handwriting), draw sketches, and even annotate PDF files.
For those who heavily rely on PDF Expert for the iPad, the new 3.2 update brings about a much requested feature – the ability to not only search the file name, but the entire contents of the PDF file as well. This will certainly help users with a sizable library of PDFs find their documents more easily and quickly. And accessory fanatics who love their bluetooth keyboards (like the ZAGGmate) will also appreciate the added support of the “Tab” and arrow keys when filling out their PDF forms (PDF Expert is one of the few on the App Store that lets you fill out forms created in Adobe Acrobat). If you already own the app, the update is free; otherwise, this excellent PDF reader/annotator will set you back $9.99. More app info and what’s new after the gap.

Readdle, makers of the trusty ReaddleDocs app, has just updated their PDF Expert for iPad (see our iPhone review) with 2 useful new features. Already able to annotate text and allow for handwritten notes, the app now gives you the ability to include signatures into any PDF file. Rather than have the user scribble them out every single time it’s needed, PDF Expert provides a template area where you can carve out your signature beforehand. Once it’s created, simply tap and hold on the area of screen you’d like for it to appear and choose the option “Signature”. Rinse and repeat. With the template, it eliminates any potential inconsistencies and makes the process much quicker.
For the past 3 years, Readdle has grown to become one of the most successful developers of business applications for the iPlatform. Today marks their 3 year anniversary and they are celebrating with all of you by giving away 1 of 3 iPads and selling all their iDevice apps for only $0.99 (48 Hour sale). That’s right, you can now pick up some great productivity apps like Take A Note, ReaddleDocs (both iPhone and iPad) and Scanner Pro for only a buck.
