Food Processing HD In Review – Produce Processing At A Panicked Pace!
With games like Cut the Rope (TMA Review) and Fruit Ninja doing so well on the App Store, it wasn’t too surprising to see another “slicing” app from Chillingo. This time, perfectly prepared produce is your goal in the recently released slice-and-dice game, Food Processing HD.
Sword Of Fargoal in Review – Rogue Quest iOS Style
At a time when home computers had less memory than the average modern video card, “sprawling” CRPGs consisted of randomly generated dungeons rendered with standard characters from your typical keyboard. The challenge came from a combination of a myriad of commands to learn and the fact that once you died your save game was deleted – there were no second chances here. The leader of the pack at one time was Rogue, hence the modern label “rogue like game”. While I still enjoy some of the concepts behind the generic dungeon crawling, I never was good at remembering all the keystrokes. That’s where modern interpretations like Sword of Fargoal come in.
Tiny Wings in Review – I dreamed I could fly…
With all the major (hardcore) releases lately from big publishers, it’s easy to forget that not everybody looks for something that complicated in terms of gameplay on the iOS. While creating a runaway hit game that is wholeheartedly embraced by the masses is often difficult to achieve, the ones that do become a screaming success, like Doodle Jump or Cut the Rope. And almost out of the blue, a new star has risen on the horizon with the simple name – Tiny Wings.
Pictureka! in Review – Can You See Me Now?
This game is insane, and of course I mean that in a good way. Just listen to the different sounds that you can assign to your profile and you’ll quickly realize that the people who put this together had a lot of fun doing it and wanted to share that fun with us. Pictureka! is based off of a board game, and after spending some time playing the electronic version I can definitely imagine that given the right group of people this would make a great party game. If you’re looking for a “hidden object” game that offers something completely different, a great family game, or simply something that will both entertain and drive you nuts at the same time, Pictureka is your game.
Gamebook Adventures 4: Revenant Rising in Review – To undead and back again…
Not sure how many of our readers remember the Choose Your Own Adventure-type books, but I certainly have fond memories of them. Leveraging the power of imagination back when a computer would take up about a football stadium just to match the processing power of the current iPhone, they provided hours of fun and enjoyment for kids all around the world. And the fact that this seemingly obsolete genre has found a home on the iDevice warms my heart and fills my soul with optimism. Especially with the release of fresh and original titles developed specifically for the iOS, like the latest creation by Tin Man Games – Gamebook Adventures 4: Revenant Rising.
WorldCard Mobile – business card reader & business card scanner in Review – A business card organizer that fits right inside you iPhone
As a Customer Facing Project Manager I get to meet a lot of people. Whether this is a new client, someone I meet at a conference, or even an occasional acquaintance on a flight, every single person I meet can play a very significant part in my future career. After all, a business man’s strength is often defined by the extent of his network. And of course to this day the widely accepted way to exchange contact information is still the good old business card exchange. Then when all’s said and done, you’ll still have to spend precious time manually entering the information into your contact organizer of choice. But what if you could just snap a picture of the card and have it magically appear in your contacts? Now you can with WorldCard Mobile – business card reader & business card scanner.
Dead Space in Review – If you want Survival Horror done right, leave it up to EA…
EA is one of the few major publishers that have truly embraced the App Store. Even better, many of their titles truly set a quality benchmark for others to follow, from the classic boarding goodness of SCRABBLE to becoming the mayor in SimCity Deluxe to the parkour action of Mirror’s Edge. And now they’ve has set out to redefine the 3rd Person Shooter genre with the highly anticipated release of Dead Space.
ZAGGmate with Keyboard in Review – One Sleek Case and Keyboard Combo for your iPad

When it comes to accessories for the iPad, we’re no longer just seeing cases, stands, or screen protectors on the market. Manufacturers have started to cater to users who aren’t all that keen on typing with the iPad’s virtual keyboard for extended periods. As such, the iPad is often being paired up with Apple’s own iPad Keyboard Dock or Wireless Keyboard. This may be good for when at home, but on the road, it can be cumbersome to lug around the two separately.
It’s no wonder then that we’ve seen a whole new market open up for cases that incorporate a physical keyboard. The Kensington KeyFolio, Gembox Keyboard Case and the upcoming Adonit Writer are such examples. Unfortunately, most add unwanted bulk and make your iPad look more like a crummy (second hand) netbook. Thankfully, ZAGG has come up with a solution that is both sleek and sexy, not to mention fun to use – the ZAGGmate w/ Keyboard case.
Hysteria Project 2 in Review – Out of the frying pan and into the fire…
When Hysteria Project (TMA Review) appeared on the App Store back in 2009, it created quite a buzz. As one of the few interactive movies on the platform and the first originally created for the iDevice, it offered a unique experience, both technically and in terms of gameplay. Putting you in the shoes of a careless victim desperately trying to escape the hooded maniac that seems to be in multiple places at the same time, it was a revelation for many thrill seekers on the iOS. The latter can get ready for their second dose as the eagerly awaited Hysteria Project 2 has just been released.
Fx Photo Studio in Review – 181 dimensions of iPhoneography
If you brave the world of photography (or merely want to) armed with the all the bravado of a point-and-click iPhone, FX Photo Studio (FXPS) is for you. If you happen to run into the wind, with a 2000$ tripod strapped to your back with an iPhone in your front pocket, FX Photo Studio is still for you. Unlike some photo apps, FXPS’s is friendly, but despite is simplicity, offers a lot to even the seasonedest of photographers.
