Readdle, the dev team behind some of my favorite and most used productivity/business apps on the iDevice, has just turned 5 and is celebrating by offering their entire iOS catalogue at up to 70% off. Here’s a quick breakdown of several must have apps: Scanner Pro turns your iPhone and iPad into a digital scanner and is hands down the best I’ve tried to date (now $1.99); Calendars is a great looking and fully featured google calendar client (now $1.99); ReaddleDocs for the iPhone and iPad, an all-in-on file manager that no iDevice should be without (now $0.99); and Remarks, an iPad only app that lets you create notes and annotate imported PDFs (now $0.99). The birthday sale is only good for 48 hours, so be sure to check out the rest of the links below, along with a funky Readdle turns 5 video.
2K Games doesn’t have a huge catalogue of titles on the App Store, but they do have some of the most well known games in their respective genres. And now, for a very limited time, all of 2K’s iOS offerings are on sale for only $0.99. Sid Meier’s Pirates! and Civilization Revolution are among the most addictive games I’ve played on the iPad and this is the first time that they’ve dropped to the dollar mark. For sports fans out there, NBA 2K12 and NHL 2K11 will be able to get their hoops/hockey fix on the small screen. The ‘Summer Sale’ is on for only 3 days and will end Monday, July 30th. iPhone and iPad links after the break.
Tripwolf, makers of the award winning travel apps for the iPhone, have dropped over 20 of their city guides to free over the past several days (previously $5.99 for each). The more notable cities include Barcelona, London, New York City and Paris. All tripwolf travel guides feature offline maps, travel tips from other travellers, an augmented reality mode, the ability to sort and filter attractions by distance, price, type etc, and an all new trip planner mode that helps you plan and organize upcoming trips via a drag and drop interface. Users even have the option of choosing whether to separately download offline maps, text and images for added flexibility. It’s not known how long these travel apps will stay free, so best grab them from the App Store ASAP, especially for those of you planning to visit London (and other cities in Europe) during the 2012 Olympics.
