FitEar ToGo! 111 – This is Trance

Yesterday, I was asked by Musica Acoustics to shoot a new earphone, the FitEar ToGo! 111. The 111 is the ToGo! 334′s younger sibling. It was released sometime in the summer in Japan and has had very few legit sales channels abroad. This version is spread with a Musica Acoustics label. Evidently, Jaben have their own label. You can pick it up from Musica for 645$. From what I understand, it is the same as the regular ToGo! 111. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Preview: Azkend 2

Thanks to the inspiration of such classics as Bejeweled there certainly isn’t a shortage of match 3 games on the App Store, but quality ones are an entirely different story.  For every Treasures Of Montezuma there are literally dozens that… well, just aren’t.  Thankfully 10 Tons rises above the ranks of “the others”, and with Azkend 2 kicks this particular series up a couple of notches [TMA's Azkend 1 review].

Touchgrind BMX coming Spring 2011

Remember Touchgrind, the excellent skateboard simulator? My fingers still dance awkward steps across my iPod when I’m looking up hard dictionary words like ‘cluster’ and ‘shill’ ’cause Touchgrind rocked them to the memory core. It made this crappy sk8tR into something special, and kept my hands busy in the best ways possible. Well, come this Spring, Illusian Labs will release its sequel, Touchgrind BMX. The same sort of free style physics will get things going on pipes and over rails from the relative safety of your iDevice. That means no more pinchin’ the biscuit. For now, enjoy the above video. We’ll have more as it comes.

Wanna get prepped for Touchgrind BMX on one of the iDevice’s first truly innovative titles? Check out Touchgrind now!

Touchgrind Illusion Labs, Touchgrind (TMA Review), 6.87MB – $4.99

Ultimate Spider-Man – Total Mayhem punching for September

If you like beat-’em-ups (and I know you do), you might be just the person we’re looking for. Spidy, at it again against asthmatics baddies, will be slinging to an iDevice near you in the very near future. Be prepared for the combos, subtitles, and mad violence that only the webber Spiderman can deliver. Below are some screenies and above, Gameloft’s latest trailer. Take your pick.

Piccies and more from Gameloft after the gap:

Preview of Rimelands: Hammer of Thor – Rogue is going steampunk!

I got interested in Rimelands back in early 2010 when I came across the first batch of screenshots and some basic information on the game. It got me so interested that I contacted Arto and Peter from Dicework Games for an exclusive interview about their project. And now, barely half-a-year later, Rimelands is in its final stages of beta-testing and scheduled to be submitted to Apple for review in a couple of weeks. What’s even better – I can give you a sneak peek of what’s in store!

Exclusive preview: 1112 Episode 02 – Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better…

A little over a year ago, while the App Store was void of even a single decent quality adventure game, a small independent developer called Agharta Studio released 1112 episode 01– the first adventure game to be exclusively developed from the ground up for the iPhone. The project came to fruition through the hard work of a small team led by Alexandre Leboucher and got high praise from critics all across the board (including an honorable mention in our The App Store’s Best Adventure). It was stylish, beautifully drawn and had an original storyline and puzzles to back it all up.

Despite the original promise of a sequel in about 4 month’s time, the team decided to take a little detour to make the excellent Rogue Planet, which messed up the schedule somewhat. Fastforward to April 20, 2010 – Alexandre has just informed me that the long awaited sequel has finally been submitted to Apple and graciously allowed me to take a full hands-on go with 1112 Episode 02. And here’s how it looks.

Preview with hands-on video: Caligo Chaser – Chasing after whispers of glory

Some time ago I was blessed with an invitation to a closed beta-test of a new RPG from Com2US – creators of  arguably the best Action/RPG on the iDevice at the moment – Inotia 2: A Wanderer of Luone (TMA Review – Kiss It). They have undertaken an ambitious task of claiming the crown of side scrolling Beat-em-up RPGs currently held by HYBRID: Eternal Whisper (TMA Review – Kiss it). And today I’m going to give you a preview of what will be in store once Caligo Chaser is released – with video nonetheless!

Well, Caligo Chaser is out now! Check it out at the App Store:

Claws-on Preview: Imp or Oaf?

Preview-Game-Imp-or-Oaf-1

Many people were hoping that the first game to come out from Gilded Skull Games would be Galactic Keep, an impressive looking pen-and-paper RPG emulator. But that game is still in development, and in the meantime, they’ll be releasing their first game called Imp or Oaf?. I got the chance to sit down with the beta version of this game, and played it on and off with my 5-year-old son, and I’m here to give you my impressions.
