iPhone 3G / 3GS Otterbox Defender case in Review – Pretty in pink

I’m a keen walker and camper, but I also love my iPhone, so finding a case which promised to fully protect my device is a must have. I mean, that is what an iDevice case is supposed to do, right? Well sure, there are fashionable, earthy ones like the Skydda TradDuo, but when you want to beat the bushes, it’s time for rubber. The Otterbox Defender case comes in four colours: black, white, yellow and pink, catering for all audiences.

iPod touch 3G VS iPhone 3GS – trial of speed

iLounge posted a brilliantly unscientific test comparing the 3GS, 3G, Touch 2G and the new one – a test which moves me from the belly up. And, it should you too. Of course exempt is the new 8GB model which is a brilliant marketing rehash of last years model, though it lacks a few $$$ of unneeded weight. The verdict (as you will notice on the videos) is that the Touch 3G is faster than any other iDevice platform, even if by mere seconds.

iPhone HD – more hi-res evidence emerges

While other not so unknown companies scream that their mobile device is compliant with the dreaded two-letters, could there hidden depths to what the recently acclaimed “Jesus” phone can do? A rumour, that has been started on the other side of the globe in a small and insignificant (sic) country called China (original forum post translated link), is enough to rattle the brains of any iPhone follower and start questioning their faith in whether Apple really knows what they’re doing. Even more so if the rumor proves to be true. It appears that the iPhone 4G may come in 960*640 resolution, a number which works out to quadruple the resolution of the current 3GS.

Though the Chinese get all the credit, we reported that the 3GS is capable of HD playback in July via the file tranfer app, AirSharing 😉

Failure of the Survey: iPhone 3GS and Pre return/exchange rates compared

Surveys can be conducted with a variety of outcomes in mind. One might be to learn about a product or service; it could also be used to find out a personal information. A popular reason to conduct surveys, however, is to prove pre-conceived notions; unfortunately, this sort of survey is the tool of marketers and turn-coat surveyors – integrity isn’t a strong suit of many surveys. For instance, if TMA conducted a survey of how satisfied readers were with our articles and, at the same time, offered a free headphone, to a ‘randomly selected’ individual, the survey would be flawed.

A recent one approached 3GS and Pre users in order to ascertain which one suffered higher return/exchange rates. I have issues with it on many levels and I hope that you will read along.

Big in Japan part 2: iPhone 3GS takes July in bid for most popular calendar phone

News-3GS-big-in-japanNo, I will not officially reference the whole boobs in Japan article (whoops); I’d rather we spend a moment in silence. In July, the iPhone 3GS 32GB took top spot among all phones sold in Japan, ousting the popular and stodgy makers such as Sharp, Panasonic and Casio. According to Electronista, the 3GS succeeds where the 3G failed because of “features that bring its hardware up to par, like video capture and voice control”.
