Gameprom, well known at the App Store for their pinball titles (Jungle Style Pinball, The Deep Pinball and Wild West Pinball), will be releasing The Pinball for Mac OS X and the upcoming iPad. It’ll essentially be a collection of all three games, each with its own unique and distinct theme. Thanks to the larger screen on the iPad though, The Pinball will now allow you to play the game in full table view, something that you aren’t able to do on the relatively small screen of the iPhone/iPod Touch. Of course, the alternative “agile” camera will still be available so you can follow the action in more detail. Gameprom will also be releasing the free Pinball Remote app, a utility for the iPhone and iPod Touch that will allow you to purchase new tables AND control The Pinball on your iPad – just like a wireless controller. AppAdvice has some good news for literate iPad fans: Project Gutenburg with its 30 000 free titles will be pre-loaded onto the App Store’s iBooks app for iPad. There are compelling reasons for this. Firstly, free books shouldn’t be made profit of as they have been at the App Store and sold at 99 cents per. The public domain has no place with profit and for many reasons wouldn’t exist if at the beck-and-call of swindlers.
If you can make out the squiggles on this page, you may well be a potential iPad customer, or at least that is what numbers released by a comScore iPad study suggest. The study comes in several parts, but concentrates on the intended use, demographic, and receptiveness to paid content evidenced by iPad and e-Reader customers. In fact, the iPad already “matches Amazon Kindle in awareness and purchase intent”, helping to cement at least one of the iPad’s uses in the dredges of ostensibility.
While I’ll not contend the research, the bit which gets me is this:
Male and female survey participants had nearly identical favorability around the choice of the name â€œiPadâ€ In the case of both genders, approximately 49 percent had a positive impression of the name, 27 percent were indifferent, and 24 percent had a negative impression.
Obviously, the group studied by ComScore have never shared maxiPad jokes.

The iPad’s launch date is less than 2 weeks away and developers have been working around the clock to bring you Â games and apps made specifically for the device. Godzilab Games is one such dev and they’ve announced that their beloved iBlast Moki (TMA review) is getting an all new HD version for the iPad. Here are some early details:
- Entirely new graphics. All graphics have been redone in high resolution to get crisp and highly detailed graphics on the iPad.
- Wider vision of each level to take advantage of the wide 9.7 inch screen. This will be especially useful in the built-in level editor.
- All menus have been redesigned and optimized for a better player experience.
- New version of Plus+ designed for the iPad.
iBlast Moki’s success on the iPhone should make for an even better experience on the iPad, with better graphics and more real estate to play with. Fans of the hit game who’ll be buying an iPad should definitely keep an eye out for its release around launch date. More screens after the gap.
eBattalion, developers of FLIP and Nanoids, are now running a contest where one lucky (and skilled) winner will take home an iPad. The rules are pretty straight forward: play their latest game Doodle Run and obtain the high score by surviving longer than your competitors. The longer you’re able to stay alive, the higher your score.
Run through multiple doodle themes, including Rain, Snow, Day, and Night. Grab a bazooka and mow down zombies and other dangerous obstacles. Jump into an oversized bullet and destroy everything in your path. Doodle Run is a pickup-and-play game that will have you coming back for more and more.

The “magical and revolutionary” iPad (no, not that iPad), undoubtedly the most hyped and highly anticipated electronic gizmo in recent memory, now has a confirmed release date: April 3rd.
March 5, 2010â€”AppleÂ® today announced that its magical and revolutionary iPad will be available in the US on Saturday, April 3, for Wi-Fi models and in late April for Wi-Fi + 3G models. In addition, all models of iPad will be available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK in late April.
The basic Wi-Fi model will be released first in the US, followed by the Wi-Fi + 3G version in late April. As for the rest of the world (select countries), the good news is that they don’t have to wait long before both models will be made available. Pricing, one of the more attractive aspects of the iPad will be as follows: Base Model (Wi-Fi only) – $499US for 16GB, $599 for 32GB and $699 for 64GB. The higher end Wi-Fi + 3G Model will sell for $629US for 16GB, $729 for 32GB and $829 for 64GB.

Most developers are probably already aware of this, but this morning Apple updated the iTunes Connect Developer Guide – the handbook for using iTunes Connect. Among other miscellaneous fixes it includes:
- Enhanced instructions on creating Demo Accounts;
- An explanation of the “New Territories as Added” checkbox;
- Revised app description character count recommendation based on the new design of App Product pages on the App Store;
- Additional information on export compliance.

iPhone OS 3.2 beta SDK has just been updated to Beta 2. No revelations though, just a short list of bug fixes including OS 3.2 beta apps running on OS 3.1.3. Featured bug fixes are:
â–ª FIXED: Changing an iPhone Executable’s working directory from “Build Products directory” may cause the application not to install properly with the error message “The Info.plist for application at (null) specifies a CFBundleExecutable of (null), which does not exist.”
â–ª FIXED: In iPhone SDK 3.2 beta 1, Xcode’s Transition feature did not work correctly if the SDK was installed in a location other than /Developer. In beta 2, the feature will work properly with the SDK installed in any location on your system.
â–ª FIXED: In iPhone SDK 3.2 beta 1, some users saw the message “A signed resource has been added, modified or deletedâ€¦” when rebuilding their projects. This has been fixed for beta 2.
And no, the iPhone is still not supported for the 3.2 feature set. So, no biggie, just keeping up to pace.
The iPad is quite a spitter. Its 30-pin port not only spits analogue audio (and digital outputs), it sports a very classy, very ancient VGA output. The adapter necessary to hook the unit to VGA won’t work on current iDevice hardware which isn’t configured to support it. Rather, the VGA output is primarily for hooking the device up to video projectors. Imagine leaving the lappy home for business meetings. Imagine hooking this badboy up to a home projector for gaming – not a bad bit of kit for road-business warriors.
The modern internet junkie is the lowest of common denominators. It feeds on rumours, loves unsubstantiated ‘facts’, tires of truth, and salivates for one-eyed wisdom. I am probably one.
