When it comes to adventure gaming on the iDevice, Jules Verne’s Secrets Of The Mysterious Island (TMA Review) and Return To Mysterious Island (TMA Review) are certainly some of the better ones on the App Store today. If you’re a fan of the genre, the good news is that Return to Mysterious Island – Deluxe Edition for the iPad is now FREE for the next 24 hours to celebrate its 6th anniversary. The iPad version, unlike its iPhone sibling which was “adapted” to fit the smaller screen, is essentially a direct port of the popular PC game. This captivating adventure (down from $4.99) with hours of gameplay, solid puzzles and great graphics can now be yours for free!
And of course, there are plenty more Freebies in this Roundup, so head on inside and grab whatever that tickles your fancy.
You ever fire up a game on your iPhone and are (pleasantly) surprised at how much fun it really is? Well Push Panic, now Free Today, was one of those games for me when it first released several months back. Its vibrant Retina graphics, simple yet addictive gameplay and multiple game modes brings a whole new dimension to “tapping” games on the iOS. Your goal is to chain (by tapping) together as many blocks of the same color as possible and eliminate them from the screen before all the blocks overflow beyond the panic bar above. The more you play, the more you realize the various strategies required for each level. Simple put, this is one fantastic Freebie you don’t want to miss.
As usual, more paid–>free apps can be found within. Do hurry though, as they won’t last for very long!
As part of Game’loft’s Twitter Advent Calendar promotion, Brain Challenge HD is now free for the next 24 hours. With 43 different mini-games and 5 categories to train in (Visual, Memory, Logic, Math and Focus), iPad users will finally find it fun to give their brains a work out. Also free today is iBlast Moki (TMA Review), an original physics puzzle game that ranks right up there with some of the most endearing titles on the App Store.
Thanks to Blacksmith Games’ Advent Calendar and a number of other promotional events, there have been a recent string of quality App Store apps and games that have gone from paid–>free. For the first time ever, Smule’s Ocarina, one of the first truly unique and innovative musical apps for the iDevice, will be free for 3 days (until Dec 10th). BIG BAD Flower, a simple yet fun tap ‘n swipe game Eric reviewed (and thoroughly enjoyed) can also now be downloaded for free.
There are currently 20+ titles in this roundup and they include: Assault Squadron, The Infinity Project, My Little Restaurant, Orba and much more. As always, these freebies won’t be last for long, so if you see something you like, much sure you grab ‘em pronto!
Update: Rayman 2: The Great Escape from Gameloft is now free for 24 hours!

In need of a new and addictive game on your iPhone/iPod Touch? Look no further as Chillingo’s awesome Monster Mayhem has just been given the paid–>free treatment. While Chillingo has published dozens of quality iDevice games, M.M remains one of our favorites here at TouchMyApps. ChiffaN reviewed this surprise hit back in May and had this to say:
Monster Mayhem is an unimaginably addictive castle defence game, sort of like a cross between Plants vs. Zombies (TMA Review) and the myriad of zombie shooters out there. Monster Mayhem further augments the experience with a variety of undead and upgradable weapons that make them regret ever leaving their graves. While there may be some minor flaws, the developers managed to nail it where it counts – sheer mindless fun of blowing zombies to kingdom come.
No word yet on how long this freebie deal will last, but why wait? If you want to add another great title to your app collection, Monster Mayhem definitely won’t disappoint.
The weekend is just around the corner and what better way to start it off than by downloading some quality App Store titles for FREE! In celebration of FISHLABS’ upcoming sequel Galaxy on Fire 2, their hit Galaxy On Fire 3D (TMA Review) has been given the paid–>free treatment. Released back in 2009, G.o.F remains to this day one of the best space shooters on the iDevice thanks to its great graphics, spot on controls and 20+ hours of gameplay. Even if you remotely enjoy Space Sims, this is one freebie you don’t want to miss out on. Staying in the “3D” realm, Glu’s Deer Hunter 3D is now also free. Based on the best-selling PC hunting game from Atari, this iPhone reincarnation is true to the original and sports plenty of different weapons (some of which are IAP) and realistic visuals.
More freebies can be found within, but as always, be sure to hurry as some of price drops are only good for a very limited time!
Aside from the ever increasing new entries into the App Store, one thing you can always count on are the heaps of price drops that appear on a daily basis. Earlier today, Chiffan’s Hot Steals and deals post highlighted some awesome $0.99 bargains, including Secret of Monkey Island 1 & 2 (heck, even TETRIS is now only $0.99!!). Even better of course are the Freebie deals, which we’ve hand picked for this roundup. Leading the way is Undercroft (TMA Review), one of the most notable old-school RPGs on the iDevice. With 5 hero classes to choose from and over 20 hours of gameplay, fans of the genre mustn’t miss out. Also free is Flight Doodle, an Up there (and high score) type game that’s filled with power ups, colorful visuals and an option to design and customize your own balloon.
Lots more titles that have recently gone from paid–>free can be found after the break. Remember, these deals are only valid for a limited time… so hurry!
