EA offering daily freebies and price drops with “Daily Deals” event

EA Mobile is getting into the spirit of Christmas early with “Daily Deals“, where steep price drops or straight-out freebies are offered everyday. It actually kicked off a few days back, when The Sims Medieval and SHIFT 2 Unleashed (still showing as $0 as of writing) were the first two EA games to go free. Discounts on in-game content via IAPs are also part of the daily offerings, as can be seen in today’s “hot deal” for Fantasy Safari and Road Trippin’. The promo will run until Jan 2nd, 2012 and a new list of special deals will be refreshed at 9:00am PST each day.

EA’s Back 2 School Sale – Save up to 80% on select games

Aside from publishing quality games on the iOS, EA sure knows how to offer great App Store sales periodically. This time, it’s the annual Back 2 School Sale that will see price drops of up to 80% off on a number of their iPhone and iPad titles. Some of the more notable games include Fight Night Champion, Flight Control HD and Max and the Magic Marker for iPad, all of which can be had for $0.99. So if you’re looking to add more EA games to your iDevice collection, be sure to grab a few more before the weekend’s over. Complete sale line up after the gap.

Command & Conquer Red Alert making its way to iPhone and iPod Touch

red-alert-preview9RTS fans rejoice! EA has just sent us word that Command & Conquer Red Alert will be coming to the iDevice, with the expected release date to be in October. In the world of RTS games, Command & Conquer is certainly one of the most influential and popular franchises around, right up there with the ageless classics like Warcraft and Ages of Empires.

Experience real-time COMMAND & CONQUER strategy as the Soviet or Ally factions. Control the battlefield with touch-screen power in up to 12 combat levels. Create and command war squads in realistic environments. Manage supplies with an intuitive combat system, and escalate the game with hi-tech weapons you develop.

While quality RTSes are slowly (but surely) making their way to the iPlatform, I have yet to play an RTS on the iPhone that I would consider a must have for the genre. There’s no doubt that if EA have covered their bases and done a good job in the controls and gameplay department, Red Alert will be a massive hit at the App Store. For now, check out the in-game screenshots and more info after the break!
