Master Of Alchemy HD In Review – God Like Power Packed In A Puzzler

I’ve been looking for some new games to enjoy on my iPad. There are a fair amount out there but I’ve also noticed that many are simply iPad versions of original iPhone titles (aka ports). I wanted something new.

“What if you could transform lead into gold? Or distil the essence of life itself?…”. That’s the opening line in the description for Master of Alchemy HD. As far as openers go, that one is definitely an attention grabber. Using the practices and methodology of medieval days gone by, you’re tasked with taking on the Mechanologists and bringing alchemy to supremacy.

Pirate’s Treasure in Review – Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!

Ahoy, landlubbers! In the game for some booty? Me and some fellow gentlemen o’ fortune found this ole treasure map lying around and are planning to go hunting for it!  And a couple of me hearties – Guerrilla Bob and John Gore – have recommended you as a reliable mate to accompany us. Beware, though, some lily-livered sprogs say there’s a curse be placed on said booty. But those child’s tales are not going to stop such swashbuckling buccaneers like us, right? Arrrgh!

Monster Mayhem in Review – Addictive mindless zombie massacre!

With all of the stuff going around, sometimes the only thing you really need is some mindless fun for your gray matter. While the App Store is ready and willing to help with a significant chunk of the 200,000 apps, it isn’t hard to see that 90% of the casual games at the store are a complete waste of your time and money.  And in these trying times, the only thing we have left to rely on is the publisher name…thankfully, Chillingo strikes again with its latest release – Monster Mayhem.

Dracula: The Path Of The Dragon – Part 3 has seen the light on the AppStore – It’s time to face the count

Update: if you require some help during your Dracula journey, be sure to visit Tetraedge’s official support forums right here on TMA!

I’m very excited to announce that the final part of Dracula: The Path Of The Dragon saga, developed by Tetraedge games and published by Chillingo, has been released on the App Store. The story of Father Arno and his quest to uncover the dark and bloody mysteries of Vladoviste is concluded with some unexpected twists at the end. TMA’s shigzeo reviewed Dracula part I back in late January 2010 and had this to say:

Dracula is more fun, more atmospheric, and more acutely entertaining than either Mysterious Island game is. It is streamlined, involving, and has great writing.

I myself consider it to be one of the most atmospheric and involving adventure games ever to be released on the iDevice, one with an exceptional storyline and great graphics. If you’re a fan of the genre, I highly recommend you grab the games now; at the very least, check out the official description after the gap.

Vampire Origins in Review – Vampires, eat lead… bronze… copper… oh yeah, silver!

Survival horror is one of the most underrepresented genres on the iDevice. Barring a couple of mediocre Resident Evil titles and the superb but short Fallen EP-1 there is really nothing to get the adrenaline flowing. Well, Chillingo decided to capitalise on this lack and released Vampire Origins, a game ambitiously dubbed “The most advanced survival horror to hit the app store”. Read on to find how “advanced” it really is.

The Hero in Review – My name is Mr. Superhero! Tights – mandatory!

Have you ever thought how great it would be to have super-powers? But, as they say, “with great power comes great responsibility”. So it’s time to get off your *** and go get those bad guys. With Chillingo’s recent release, The Hero, follow the daily life of the flying and punching hunk of a superhero. Goofy police chief and busty reporter included! Feel free to discuss this review of The Hero in our forums.

Hero to land on the iPhone – Chillingo insinuated

“It’s a lonely place”, says the mysterious hero whose fame, brought on by saving the world from tanks, aliens and zombies may have sunk his otherwise indefatigable spirits. Chillingo have kept tight-lipped as to their involvement in the creation of this superhuman, but the ever-vigilant TouchMyApps team are picking through the rubble of falling rumours now.

It appears that the ‘hero’ may be crazy, a larger than life character too caught up in his role, in the carnage he dealt. We will find out more later this month when Hero’s story is expected to debut at the App Store. Till then, hang tight with these images and interview.

Guerrilla Bob in Review – Commandante Bob is out for blood! John Gore’s blood!

Guerilla Bob is one of the App Store’s most hyped and anticipated games. The last time I saw this much hype was just before Chillingo’s MiniGore came out. I know many of you may want to strangle me for saying this, but I think that blockheaded game got lucky. Will Guerilla Bob make me say the same thing? No, and here’s why…

Dracula: The Path Of The Dragon – Part 1 in Review – sadistically beautiful

The iPhone still mucks about in a rut of cross-pollinated adventure titles, but thankfully, its playground is expanding beautifully. Dracula: The Path Of The Dragon – Part 1 has me salivating for the next instalment; it is a fun, scary, and well-told adventure with the thick sort of atmosphere which can only be cut with a blood-stained reaping-scythe.
