Adventure gaming on the iPad – Sam & Max here, Broken Sword – coming soon

Adventure games have already proved to be a perfect genre for the iPhone. And just imagine how much better they would be on the iPad? Well, you don’t have to! Without any publicity or even an early hint Telltale games – the pioneer of episode based adventure games on the PC – have already released the first episode of Season 3 of their Sam & Max series on the iPad! You can grab it using the link below or check out after the gap for the description and screenshots. And no, Telltale has confirmed that no plans exist for an iPhone version.

Unfortunately it’s still a bit too early for any screenshots, but we’ll deliver them to you as soon as they become available! And a definitive answer to some of the rumours floating out there regarding an iPhone/iPad version of Broken Sword 2 – at the moment there are no plans for it – Charles is hard at work with Dave Gibbons on his next adventure game he hinted at during the interview.

AppStore News: CoD WW Zombies and Guerilla Bob update, GTA CW and BS DC go on sale

Well then, folks, it’s updates galore! Well, not “galore” per say, but nevertheless two major titles got updated today. One is the recently released Guerrilla Bob (TMA Review – Grab It) with the most notable addition of multiple save slots and the promise that not the whole game is reset on death, rather only the stage.

The other major title is, of course,  Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies (TMA Review – Kiss It) – a first-person survival shooter that came out of nowhere late fall 2009 and was highly acclaimed by the critics. Among many other improvements include a new map Verrückt (Zombie Asylum) that is now available via In-App purchasing for a hefty price of $4.99.

For the steals and deals the recent blockbuster title, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (TMA Review – Double Kiss It) and the only game to have ever got a Double-Kiss It rating from TMA has been updated with a minor improvement of random selection from the iPod playlist as well as getting a price cut to $6.99 to celebrate the Chinese New Year. If you haven’t picked up it already, now is the time to do it!

And last but not least – Broken Sword: Director’s Cut (TMA Review – Kiss It)  the best adventure game on the iPhone has recently been supplemented by the Spanish version Broken Sword : La Leyenda de los Templarios – Montaje del Director in addition to going on sale in celebration of Valentine’s day. If you are a fan of adventure games – this is not to be missed.

Broken Sword: Director’s Cut slashes into the AppStore

Our original report back in December has finally been confirmed by the arrival of Broken Sword: Director’s Cut at the AppStore. Broken Sword is one of the best adventure games of all time and has been made even better with new cutscenes and an added storyline.

It was a quiet day in Paris when a clown blew up a cafe. George Stobbart is thrown in the middle of detective story revolving around the Knights Templar. Now he must enlist the help of the beautiful Nico to follow the clues of an ancient manuscript.
