Piccies and more after the gap:
Are you obsessed with all things Samuel L. Jackson? Is “Enough is enough! I have had it with these mother***ing snakes on this mother***ing plane!” your favorite movie quote of all time? If you simply can’t get enough of the man who’s been in roughly half the hollywood movies ever made, iSamJackson should be right up your alley.
iSamJackson, when you absolutely, positively have to have the coolest app in the room, accept no substitutes.
iSamJackson for the iPhone and iPod touch features 100% original and authentic recordings from the one and only Samuel L. Jackson. iSamJackson provides endless entertainment with a unique collection of quotes that hit the mark with the attitude and wit of Samuel L. Jackson…in the palm of your hand.
Aside from the Customizable Soundboard (sorry, currently no S.J movie quotes), Personality Scanner and Ask Sam features, the coolest thing about the app is that you can purchase both the “Clean” and “Explicit” versions. And thank goodness that! Can you imagine a Samuel Jackson app without the cursing and profanity? While there are no free lite versions at this time, the website www.isamjackson.com does give you an interactive demo with some of the quotes and features.
The one thing people love more than a Freebie is a good deal. It’s no surprise then the App Store has recently seen its share of apps that can turn your iPhone into a barcode scanner. Traditionally “reserved” for games and entertainment apps, RedLaser even cracked the Top 10 in paid apps on iTunes. Not only will these apps find and display a particular product info for you, it will even help you find the best deals around. Seeing how popular these utility apps have become, SHAPE Services, makers of the trusty IM+ and Business Card Reader, have released Bar Code Reader.
All you need to do is take a picture of a printed barcode and the app will show you the lowest prices from thousands of retailers online. SHAPE have said that it works best with the 3GS for its improved macro shots. If you’re using a 2G or 3G iPhone, you may need to make use of a product like the Griffin Clarifi Lens Case for a boost in camera resolution. Best of all though, the app is FREE. If you end up trying Bar Code Reader out, let us know how it works for you!

When it comes to all-in-one utility type apps for the iPhone/iPod Touch, there’s no doubt that there are plenty of choices available at the App Store. What’s so popular about them? For starters, you get plenty of useful apps (tip calculator, units and currency converter etc etc.) and all for the price of one. We previously reviewed Appbox Pro and found it to be of great value, offering lots of helpful tools in one neat package. Well now there’s a new kid in town and it goes by the name AppVault. Developed by C3 Software, it includes 25 apps – ranging from the more typical ones to a Bible, Guitar Tuner and even Parking Buddy! (track where you parked that Bentley of yours). There is also a FREE version for you to try out, which includes 10 of the 25 apps. If you have a fetish with the all-in-one flavor or you simply need to make sure of these utilities, AppVault indeed looks very promising. More info and screenshots after the jump.

Some time ago we reported the problems Palm Heroes Team had in submitting their latest application to Apple for review. Having no other way out but to submit to Apple’s “recomendations” they quickly changed the “offensive” pharse to something a bit more neutral. And just a little while later, their unique app – Jukemaster is finally on the AppStore.
Jukemaster is not a regular audio player. Rather it is a tool for aspiring musicians to facilitate learning to play music “by ear”. You can adjust the speed of playback, loop selected fragments and more. You can find the full feature list after the gap.
There’s a reason why gamers dig EA. Within a short and recent time span, they have released the cult classic Dragon’s Lair and arguably the best damn racer on the iPhone – Need for Speed Shift. Well now you can also add the much beloved and (still) popular animated TV series to the list – The Simspons Arcade. And for many of you, any mention of the words ‘Simpsons’ and ‘arcade game’ will surely bring back memories of the original smash ‘em up Simpsons Arcade title that was first released by Konami in 1991.

Update: Our review for Avatar is now live on TouchMyApps.
If there’s a movie that needs no introduction, it’s James Cameron’s epic Sci-Fi Avatar. Rumored to have cost upwards of 500 million to make (plus marketing), this is easily the year’s most anticipated movie. While the film’s release date is still several days away (Dec 18), Avatar the game is now available at the App Store, courtesy of Gameloft. Having published Terminator Salvation earlier this summer for the iDevice, Gameloft is no stranger to turning blockbuster movies into mobile games.

As the first experimental avatar, experience the amazing powers your new body bestows. Will you use those powers to save the Na’vi, or will you work with the humans to destroy their world?
Undoubtedly, many of you will be lining up in droves to watch Avatar. With the game taking place 20 years before the events of the movie, it’ll introduce you to the world of the Na’vi and how they came to be. If you’re an iPhone or iPod Touch gamer, today is certainly a good day for new (gaming) content. First and foremost, Chillingo’s highly anticipate 3D Action/RPG Ravensword: The Fallen King is now available for download. With the App Store lacking in titles like Oblivion, Ravensword is hoping to fill the void with its RPG elements and massive open world. For fans of the castle defense genre, Gameloft have let loose the gorgeous Castle Frenzy, an snazzy looking defense game that could become another best seller. And of course, there is THQ’s Star Wars: Trench Run, a tilt based space combat sim that will have you reliving the the destruction of the death star from the original movie.
