When the first Ravensword: The Fallen King screenshots and trailers appeared on the net, I thought: “This is it! This is the Holy Grail!” And as the time came closer and closer to the release date, with all of the publicity around the game, my interest really peaked. Just a little over 2 weeks ago I finally got my hands on the press build of this genre-bending game.

iTête à iTête – Adventure Games, The iPhone and Everything – An interview with Emmanuel Zaza of Tetraedge Games
Following our recent scoops on the upcoming releases from Tetraedge Games, as well as the excellent review of Secrets of the Mysterious Island by my esteemed colleague shigzeo, I was able to secure an exclusive interview with Emmanuel Zaza – one of the founders of the company and the project manager of the Return to Mysterious Island and Secrets of the Mysterious Island games. More after the gap!
I ain’t monkeying around: Secrets of the Mysterious Island (SOTMI) in many ways is a better game than its predecessor and thanks to its adventure-devout dev team, makes great use of the iPhone hardware. It also introduces the sort of fast user-switching made famous by Beneath a Steel Sky but heels on a vast, explorative engine. To really understand all of its goodness, you need time, a comfortable seat, and some persuasion because this is a big, engrossing game.
We posted a walkthrough for SOTMI earlier – you may need it .
Chillingo’s sequel to the popular Return to Mysterious Island adventure game made a surprise debut at the App Store, surprising both Chillingo and reviewers alike. But, Apple’s wonky schedule aside, gamers are enjoying leading Mina back to the island on another life-or-death quest. One thing noted in the Return to Mysterious Island review is that the game is both immense and difficult, leading to the official Tetraedge walkthrough. Both aspects lend themselves to excellent adventure gaming, but users need a break. Well, TMA have been given one to pass on to you. The below link will direct you to the spoils of a walkthrough of Secrets of Mysterious Island.
Be sure to also check out TMA’s review of Jules Verne’s Secrets of the Mysterious Island.
In a recent interview with GamesIndustry.biz, the managing director of Revolution Software remarked that they are extremely satisfied with how Beneath a Steel Sky Remastered (BASS) is performing. According to them, Beneath a Steel Sky Remastered is well on its way to sell as much as 20 000 copies in just its first month of release.
Robinson Crusoe is one of my favourite books of all time. It’s a tale of a shipwrecked man, who survived only thanks to his wit and skill is apparently loved by a lot of other folks as well. Numerous movie reinterpretations of the theme have been made and now, finally, you can find out how it would feel like being shipwrecked on an island on your very own iPhone/iPod Touch!
As I said many many… many times, the iPhone is still extremely lacking in the adventure games genre. Well, a small company by the name of Tetraedge Games, responsible for such outstanding games as Jules Verne’s Return To Mysterious Island and the hot new sequel Jules Verne’s Secrets Of The Mysterious Island, as well as the upcoming recently scooped Dracula Path Of The Dragon (only 3 weeks left), has set out to change that.
Chillingo are on a Vampire kick and though Origins is yet to debut, another game, Dracula: Path of the Dragon lustily awaits the fall (hint) of night engorge on App Store adventure fans. Path of the Dragon is a port of the intricate (and hardcore) point and click PC adventure of the same name and promises to be a complex and dark exploration of the occult, so get your blood-soaked, hex-marked thinking caps on for its autumn release.

Myst is a legend in its own right. When it originally appeared on the Mac back in 1993 (one of the few games which originated on this platform), it was an instant hit and the main spark behind CD-ROM drive sales. The game had the unique ability to immerse the players in the empty, beautiful and mysterious world of the game. And now you can experience the legend on the king of handheld gaming platforms, the iPhone!
It’s nice to see more and more adventure games appear on the “Jesus” phone. Especially if they have been developed specifically for it, using its great interface capabilities. And now, a new addition to the genre has been presented by Medigames Studios. You’ll have the unique opportunity to discover how hard it is to be in the first-aid officer’s shoes. Yep, just like ER! Or almost…
