Zenonia Lite Now Available

update-zenonia11-02We’ve already previewed/reviewed the game, held a nice giveaway and even interviewed the bright minds of Gamevil right at the heart of their Seoul Headquarters. So what else is there to cover about Zenonia? The Lite version of course! Gamevil has just sent word that Zenonia Lite is here and now available at the App Store. That’s right folks, the iDevice’s best ARPG can be downloaded free for all to see what the fuss is all about. This version features:

  • Total 8 playable main & sub quests
  • Full feature play in the village of Alyes
  • Normal and rare items available among 5 item classes.

By the looks of it, Zenonia Lite still offers quite a bit for gamers to sink their teeth into. I’d even say that it’d be surprising NOT to see if this one make it to #1 on the Free Apps chart in the very near future. Do yourself a favor and check it out if you haven’t already done so.

Zenonia Update 1.1 – Tweaks aplenty

update-zenonia1

If you are a fan of the hugely popular Zenonia, you will undoubtedly enjoy the 1.1 update which was just released yesterday. As testament to the RPG’s popularity, there is already a growing number of reviews for the update at the App Store that praise the game and its much-needed updates. Check out Young’s great review of Zenonia if you have not had a chance to play yet and our interview with a Gamevil assasin. Of course I am already tooling around the world listening to Armin van Buuren rather than the somewhat repetitive tunes of Zenonia’s world thanks to their BGM updates and iTunes playback, but some of the other updates are just as good.

  • D-Pad Control updated (wider touch area and transparencies added)
  • Inventory navigation improved
  • Sound – optional BGM on/off and playback of iTunes content
  • Balancing durability/hunger time adjusted
  • Typos and minor glitches

Interview with Gamevil’s Eusoon Han of Global Marketing

interview-gamevil-04-assassins

Yes, it really is that green. Thanks guys!

Gamevil, a virtual mogul in the Korean mobile gaming arena, service three Korean carriers and boast an award-winning library with over 50 games. Yet, despite their size and influence, the software company is at heart, a group of friends. They geek out at lunch with PS3 tourneys of Winning Eleven, strategise over Crispy Creme at work, and at the end of the day, enjoy pints at the pub. It’s no wonder Gamevil could carry off the successful introduction of two high-profile games: Zenonia and Baseball Superstars 2009 and so quickly establish firm grounding on the iPhone’s turf. Despite the near gobsmacking success, I was quickly assured that the best is yet to come.

TMA vs Gamevil – Assassins Win!

interview-gamevil-02-the-iphone-team

These lads have at least two big reasons to smile: their company, are stomping all over the App Store with games like Zenonia and Baseball Superstars 2009 and have been stomping all over the Korean handset market for years with over 50 games. Dedicated to mobile gaming since inception, Gamevil have a unique, storied and urbane approach to the market which has garnished their corporate resume with top sellers and awards.

And today, I set foot into their Holy of Holies.

Zenonia Almost Upon Us + Video Walkthrough

zenonia_news1

While some developers like to churn out apps like there’s no tomorrow, Gamevil has taken the “quality over quantity” approach. Their first release was Baseball Superstars, a well made baseball game that was a blast to play. In the coming days, their second iDevice offering will finally arrive in the form of Zenonia, an action RPG that could very well trounce the competition. Gamevil has sent us word that Zenonia was submitted to Apple on the 15th, meaning that if there are no unexpected delays (though you never know nowadays with the App Store approval process), this fantastic RPG could make its debut as early as Friday. If you’ve missed Young’s excellent hands on preview, be sure to read it here. In the meantime, the developer’s video walkthrough detailing the game’s quests, items, battlefields, skills and more await you after the jump.

Role Playing and Massively Multiplayer Online fans have consistently made up a large base of computer and console software sales in the last 10 years. Recently, the iDevice became home to a slew of so called “MMO” games infiltrating the App Store. These applications include iMob, Undead Live, Vampires Live, Dungeon Quest and iQuest. They all have one thing in common;  they are not real MMOs. CozyQuest is the first actual evolving MMORPG that has redefined the MMO genre for the iDevice and one that has arrived not a moment too soon.

zerogate interview: The Father and Son of MeterRead

Screenshot of the updated MeterRead from zerogate

On 11 January, 2009, TouchMyApps got an exclusive sneak peak at the great new features of zerogate’s iPhone/iPod Touch App: MeterRead. On the same day and just 22 hours or so later, we got to speak a spoonful with the  wise, humorous and sassy father/son duo who make MeterRead. It is long, sometimes convoluted and extremely biased, but I think you will find this team to be witty, clever and ready to storm the app store with more unique ideas.

Legend:

Black and beautiful: Shigzeo of TMA
Blue - Father (Leonard G. Barton)
Red – Son (Mark E. Barton)
