My favorite by far is the puzzle/rpg series, Aurora Feint! The first and second editions for iPhone were amazing, but the third edition in the series for the iPad is by far the best of all!!! I also enjoy the graphically spiffed up "txt based rpg's" by Storm8, Racing Live, Vampires Live, Zombies Live, Kingdoms Live, etc… I call them txt based because essentially that's what they are just with pretty graphics for asthetics

Final fantasy 1...2... Anything by square Enix really. Zenonia is also great and soloman's keep is a must have. In single player RPGs the story is just as important as the gameplay

    1. Puzzle Quest: I have played PQ on DS, PSP, Xbox 360 and iPhone. And I always get addicted to it as if it's the first time.
    2. Dungeon Hunter: Very fun, and addicting Diablo-Style game. The story is pathetic but it's nice to play none the less.
    3. Ravensword: Reminds me a lot of the newer Elder Scrolls games.

Games that didn't quite made the top 3 list:

    • Chaos Rings: A iPhone exclusive Sqeenix games. It didn't made top 3 because I don't really dig the way the entire game is centered around a central quest hub. I see why Sqeenix did that, but I don't like it.
    • The Quest: This game shold be in the Top 3. It's a great old school RPG and if you ask me in a few hours my mood may have changed so far that I like this one better than Ravensword.
    • Pocket Legends: This is actually a very dumbed down MMORPG but it's fun to play. If there would be free roaming and single player content, it would make my top 3 list. It also lacks more customization options.
    • Final Fantasy I+II: I played them so many times and unlike Puzzle Quest I don't fall in love again and again. Still great games if you're not sick of them by now.

I'm currently adding to my RPG collection, because I didn't have any until recently.
    1. Caligo Chaser - I'm playing through this currently and I really like it because of all the customization and hack n' slash action.
    2. Inotia 2 - I just like anything Com2uS does.
    3. Hero of Sparta - it's more of an action game on rails, but it's pretty amazing to have a God of War clone on your ipod touch.

Another one that I've purchased, but haven't played yet, is Space Miner: Space Ore Bust. I really liked the lite version and it looks like it would take many hours to finish.
    1st gen. iPod Touch 8g

    • Final Fantasy 1 - Played it on NES, emulator on PC, and now on the iDevice.
    • Solomon's Keep - Great replay value. Very addictive. With so many options of spells to choose (randomly) keeps me playing it again and again.
    • Sword of Fargoal - Best Roguelike RPG on the iDevice. I can say nothing more.

Chaos Rings becuase of the stunning visuLs and the coolness factor.
Final Fantasy because I grew up on the series and all the extras they added to the game.
Inotia 2 because of all the items, similarites to WoW and diablo, replay value, and cause it's fun!

    1. Chaos Rings - This is the closest thing to a modern console RPG that is available on the App Store. Beautiful graphics, amazing soundtrack and a nice story.
    2. Space Miner - Few games on the App Store have gotten me as addicted as Space Miner did. Time just flies when you're playing this baby.
    3. Sword & Poker 2 - It's poker. It's RPG. It's insanely addictive. It's a sequel that improves on the first game on every single aspect. Need I say more?

    - Palm Heroes - What's not to like? It's heroes of might and magic on your iphone!
    - Wolfenstein RPG - One of the best fps and now it's an RPG
    - Dungeon Hunter - My favorite Gameloft game. Lots of replay value (multiple characters to play through again) and tonnes of weapons to equip.
