I have been playing a great game I found on the app store called Bedlam.
I've played Everquest and World of Warcraft and when I got my iphone I started playing all those Storm8 games-Kingdoms. Vampire Wars, etc. I found them boring, tedious and frustrating because folks just bought there way through levels with real money. I tried Ragespace-it was a little primitive and abandoned by devs. Zenonia was a boring grind.
Bedlam absolutely rocks! I dont play any of my other games now-just Bedlam. Bedlam is a multi player online role playing game. You pick a class-mage/cleric/warrior/etc and a race and you go out and kill things for loot/experience/better equipment. It has a player vs. player arena. You can have guilds. You can group or you can play solo. The world is huge!!!! It is gigantic! I'm always stumbling into someplace I've never been before and never heard of.
There is usually a dev on. The players are fabulous and with the world wide talk channel you can always ask out for help or see if someone wants to group. I've seen players literally drop what they are doing to help a new person get the hang of things.
In Bedlam patience, strategy, and planning all count. It's not just a click and play mindless game. You have to pay attention to what you are doing and how you are outfitting your avatar. What equipment you are wearing can make the difference between life and death.
The only drawback is the STEEP learning curve of the user interface. That requires some patience and some reading. There is a help video that pops up when you first enter the game. By typing help there are guides that pop up that you should read at least twice before venturing out. There is a great forums section online full of useful tips. This user interface took me about a week to master completely (who knows maybe I'm stupid), but once I did I enjoy it. Especially since I can play one handed with the other handing holding my newborn!
The players will help new folks master the interface and walk them thru questions on the game or the devs will if you get lost.
This is a fantastic game-it is sooo worth the money. I've read through all the reviews online at the app store and the negative reviews seem to come from folks who were looking for a point and click mindless play kind of game who weren't willing to do anything that required patience or reading! LOL
I'd recommend the game to anyone who likes role playing games-if you played Dungeons and Dragons or Everquest or World of Warcraft you will appreciate this game!
