I was never into the SF franchise and at 10 bucks I won't start now. Maybe a lite version will come out so I can find out what I have been missing?

You're not missing much. The sprites looked bigger on the videos than they are on the actual device. And while you're able to pull some moves without to much problems the control overlay is too big and your thumbs are obscuring the view.
