Thumbs up Apple job listing hints at new iPhone OS-based devices - AppleInsider

Would make me pretty happy if true: Apple are on the hunt for an engineer who can manage a team which will raise the iPhone OS on a number of devices.

We have the iPad, we have the iPhone and we have the iPod touch. Whether or not you think three's a crowd, the family is growing, but I am looking forward to a lot more growth and a heckuva lot more devices to tender the OS into our hands, our eyes, and our ears.

What do you think? Is a new device welcome? What strictures would you like to see Apple follow in order to plug 'that hole'?

I have a hard time imagining what other touch devices could be sustained by the market.

A bigger tablet maybe? But wouldn't that just be part of the already existing iPad team? Or a smaller ipod maybe? But then this is the iPod division.

I'm not a visionary like Jobs but is there really enough room on the market for another touchOS device? Maybe in the really big scale.... Okay. Now I have it. I predict the iTable. Thats right. A friggin' table PC from Apple to compete with MS Surface. You heared it here first!

I have seen somthing at a local home improvement markt. A mirror with a build in flatscreen that showed news, weather and the door camera in a corner. But I bet this would be a bitch to clean it it were a touchscreen. But I guess if you can afford the apple version of this you already have a french maid that you like to watch clean things anyway.

If so, we must have met someplace because you know me too well.

If not, then my vain nature has been exposed and you can change the smiley to the usual

You're Steve Jobs, shigzeo? If Steve Jobs wants an iNanny, he's going to get one.

Perhaps it's for the next generation of iPad(s). It's well known that Apple missed out on a lot of things in the iPad, and I think they are planning on meeting the market's needs.
