Saw in the news that the wobbling boob maker has been pulled from the app store due to complaints after it's been around for a long time. If you want to though, I think you can sill make em ijiggle . They were fun for a short while but the novelty gets old pretty quick.

Wow - didn't see that one coming, but pretty pointless app. Smut and that stuff are still purchasable, but not via the App Store - at least not directly. You have to use the Sexapp Shop, but I reckon not a lot of people are using it. Louis reckons the other shop which it is attached to: The Premier App Shop isn't really for performing magicians, and after looking at the app adverts, I doubt it too. Probably just a front for the Sexapp Shop.

I am unfamiliar with the Sexapp Shop but with the vast world of the internet available through Safari I can't think of a need for it. I agree the app was pointless but would stop short of calling it smut. Just one of many, many silly apps to spend a few minutes with and move on to something else. Similar to all the girlie ( apps for girls/women now too) photo apps flooding the store and even reviewed by TMA (I think "Cutie of the Week"(?) was discontinued though). It's all subjective I suppose.

Wow - iWobble is as short of smut as anything else. Apple will not sit down on this one. They made a mistake. They still allow shilling at the App Store, pointless and maybe even dangerous apps, and ... even after 2 years, I still feel the market is adolescent at best.

Who cares really for adult apps as long as you can put as many porn flicks on your iDevice as you have space for it..

I'm glad Apple is finally doing something about this, although there is still a long way to go. I am so sick of having to filter through the 100s of crap "sexy girl" apps just to see what the real new releases are. It's nothing more than AppStore spam! If they want to continue to sell this crap, then put it in a separate section that doesn't clog up REAL new releases or offer a SPAM filter. Let's really raise up the quality of the App Store! Forget going after an already released game like Daisy Mae, because of the suggestive clothing on the main character...you've got a whole store full of "women in almost no clothing" apps that you could immediately pull. The problem is, Apple is probably making a bunch of royalties on these from teenage boys that are blocked from surfing for real porn!

While they are at it, I wish apple would also stop allowing 50 million separate apps for Mob Wars-like game points, force the devs to adopt an in-game purchase system for these. Realistically, I know this wont happen any time soon since there are still people running OS 2.x. A lot of people just tend to buy apps from the top 25 or other "featured" sections since its too difficult to find what you want because of all this unnecessary clutter. Unfortunately this causes a lot of good titles to never get traction.

It's long past time for some Spring cleaning...raise the bar and have a bit higher standards as to what makes it on the store.

One of the problems is the Keyword function in the AppStore. All the apps are very similar with the one first word different. Cute Blonde, Pretty Blonde, Bikini Blonde, Thong Blonde, etc.

Another problem with the Appstore is now the censorship.

I agree going through app after app of something I don't have an interest in is a nuisance but I do not believe they should be banned. What about the religious apps, the foreign language apps, the movie/tv star fan apps, the sports team apps, etc. The key might be to create more (and more accurate) category definitions. Mainstream Book and Magazine sellers feature lots of different subjects (aside from hardcore which I don't think we are discussing here). The AppStore should be no different.

I use Appshopper RSS feeds to check out new and price change apps. If it were possible for them to create a detailed filter that would be awesome, but until then I will simply hit "page down" a little faster.

Wow - what a great discussion! (and another for the Ron). The sexy apps, the outright porn apps, the cute girl apps - they are just as bad as the myriad clone games, clone advert, clone this and that apps out there. I really, really don't appreciate that Apple are singling out something which may be offensive, but as Ron said, there are religious apps out there which, rather than a bit of heat, can be responsible for real disagreement.

Sexy stuff may be spam, but the precedent of calling something spam, of removing something from the App Store is dangerous - very very dangerous. Soon, someone will lobby Apple for things like Christmas, for the Koran, the Bible, etc.. as they are 'offensive'.

I definitely agree that this sets a dangerous precedent, that's why I think a user-configurable SPAM filter may be the best way to go, to allow users to filter the content as they see fit. I guess that my initial joy was just to see some of the clutter go away and not have to jump through hoops to avoid inappropriate content while trying to find a fun app to play with my little girl.

I use AppShopper for the majority of my app store searches, I'm gonna contact them to see if they have have any plans to add some additional filtering options.

On a side note, I still have not been able to find out why Sonic at the Winter Games was pulled from the app store...a naked Sonic too risque for Apple? ;-)
