iPad widget, dictionary and 'sophisticated' URL support
Poor Url never saw it coming, but the iPad has a few (maybe) new tricks up its sleeves. Think desktop OSX tricks: Dictionary. Yep, one of my most-used apps, Dictionary looks to show up in the SDK for the iPad. If Apple want to push it for internet and for use with their iPad-formatted iWork, they had better put in their overall-excellent Oxford and Japanese dictionary into the iPad. That said, it would be ever so nice if they could license more dictionaries for other languages as English and Japanese get on with a rather small part of the world's population.
Then: URLs - can be made to open with a specific app instead of defaulting to Safari. Think Facebook, addresses, etc., which would default to a related app rather than a web browser.
Widgets: hard to really elucidate much more than there may be another layer of GUI interaction which mimics OSX stuff.
And as has been hinted in our forums, users are expecting more to be launch when the iPad goes on sale - users should find many, many more features - or at least it is fair to expect such.
How bout iPhone 4.0 launch?
