My favourite app is Tweetie 2. The interface is full of new design and smart innovations. The only negative part is that it hasn't got Push Notifications...

An App that I use all the time is called iReal Book
I am a Jazz Musician (trombone), and as such I do a lot of gigs with people who may or may not know the songs I play. I just set my app up on a stand in front of the guitarist and bass player, and bring up the tune I want (only the chords for legal reasons). Easy to read chords that can be transposed to any key. The screen doesn't go dim, and I can set the phone to airplane mode to avoid getting interrupted.

It comes with 800+ songs, plus more can easily be downloaded in the app's built in Forum; where users can share their own charts and play-lists that they've created. I really love the ability to create a set for gig, and then email the list to your other musicians. You can organize your music by name, style, composer, or create your own custom lists.

Highly recommended for any jazz musician out there.

    - Bookmark is an outstanding app for audiobooks (never lose your place after a sync)
    - MotionX GPS is a great tool for tracking walks, biking, etc with in-app iTunes control
