Talking Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars

Just wanted to know what you guys think of it. Personally for me it's currently THE BEST game of all time on the iPhone. Just spent the whole weekend with it and was again amazed by the sheer amount of things to do there - from tank driving to racing to rampaging. And I'm not even talking about the good old bigilante and other standard mission stuff.

I have the same problem I had with it on the DS. I really wanted to like the game. I even gave it another chance on the iPhone, but I just cannot seem to get comfortable with it. The controls are sluggish, the targeting system is crap, the minigame mechanics are annoying, the missions are too non substantial because they wanted them to be as short as possible for the mobile device. And a personal dislike for the Triads setting.

From the sheer amount of content in this game you're perfectly right. You get a lot. The pricepoint is for a iPhone game qite high, but on the DS I payed 40 for the same game.

The only real problem I have is with the targeting system. The controls work perfectly with digital buttons and lane-auto-align - I have 0 problems in that respect. I like the minigame mechanics very much, they add even more variety to the gameplay. And the missions - I actually like that they made them this short - otherwise I would run into problems when playing and losing progress often. On the other hand there is a lot of them - think of it as having the same old mission split into 5 or 6 mini-ones.

I'm still on the fence with this one. I really did not enjoy Payback and Car Jack Street on the iPhone and I heard the controls on GTA are even worse than on these titles...

Believe me, comparing Gta CW to Payback and CJS is insulting the franchise. The controls work and the minor difficulties don't affect the gameplay that much. You won't regret spending the cash on GTA

Unless it is an RPG, where ChiffaN might give accolades to a Japanimation type (I am joking here as I realise that they can be fun), I would trust his reviews implicitly.
