    Default Your app buying bahavior?

When I bought the last week Ghouls and Goblins and it went on sale the next day I was again angry that I couldn't jsut wait.

With the heavy fluctuation of the appstore prices how do you purchase your apps? Do you wait until they're on sale or even free? Or do you get the app right away at the full price?

I usually grab entertainment apps only when they go free. A handful of apps that I paid for tend to be productivity apps, like the QuickOffice range. I think even then it was on an introductory offer. As far as I can recall, I don't think I've really bought apps at their supposed full price.

A number of my friends have asked me to inform them when I spot good deals since I scour many RSS feeds compulsively and check BargainBin and PandoraBox every morning when I wake (and before I even brush my teeth!). So to make it easy for me, I started a site that does only one thing and that is to consolidate every treat and trick I encounter which I feel is worth sharing.

I have refrained from posting about this website because I am not sure how appropriate it would be in TMA's own forum. Louis and forum team, if this is out of place, please let me know and I'll edit it out.

The website I use to inform my friends of the deals and tips I spot is AppTreats which is optimised for Mobile Safari too.

I used to wait, I used to look for price drops. Now, I tend to read a good review and grab it immediately. Generally, I trust anything from ChiffaN, but there have been a few times where his POV and mine don't match - those usually pop up in RPG games. I really don't like anime RPGs. But, after his review of Palm Heroes, I bought and got lucky as it was only 2.99$ or 1.99$ or so.

Otherwise, I just pray for good luck!

I use appshopper to monitor deals and it updates in my rss feed as well as emails me I'd the price drops.

But I always try to wait. Like for tetris lol.

It all depends on the game. If it looks really good I won't wait. If I am unsure I tend to hold off for a lite version or sale. (or the forum app giveaway , which is awesome- thanks again Louis! )

I usually wait for the price drops, but if it's something I really am looking forward to, and has garnered great reviews, I'll pay full price. It also rewards the devs for putting out
    quality apps.

I monitor RSS and Twitter for apps I can use and look for good deals on them. The best apps (or those that intrigue me) I put on AppSniper and wait for a price drop. If I see enough glowing reviews about them (e.g., Tweetie 2), however, I will usually just pick them up at full price since it is less likely they'll drop their prices. My problem right now is that I have so many apps, I don't have time to really spend much time with any of them. I need to slow down. <sigh>

Apps I see that I "might" like I often put on my iTunes Wish List just to remind myself they exist in case the need/desire for any of them ever strikes me.

I'm going to create a FileMaker database (real soon now - hah!) to record all the apps I have and include enough info about them so I can remember what they all do!
