Default When you iPod touch finally dies, how will you dispose of it?

In Korea, I know of no recycle shops, but there are no dumps either. I cannot imagine sending my iPod touch skipping across a pond - that would be destructive and a waste. It isn't a good coaster nor would it be safe to prop my bed up on.

It works fine, but when it does die (years later?), I'll be very happy to be creative in my personal recycling of it. Perhaps I could do an artwork mural, the touch as the centre, holding up the hard artline.

Here's my short story made long
Purchased my old 2g 32gig iTouch from Target here in the U.S. They offer a recycling program on their website. It is really a link to another company that recycles electronics. After answering their questions about the condition of my iTouch (total brick from water) they respond with an offer of $13 and change. I ended up taking it to the Apple Store where they credited me about $50 towards a refurbished unit(2g 32 gb). Bought that for my son since I had already gotten my 3g 32gig iTouch. Everyone was happy and I was a bit wiser and poorer...

Yes, I have heard of Apple's recycle programme - when I get back to Canada, I will make use of it. Korea doesn't have an Apple Store which is unfortunate, but it does have some pretty nice resellers. But an iPod touch 8GB costs 300$ and 32GB, 450$ - way too much to buy here. Some people have them, but they are really a rip here. I may go for a 4G iPod touch in the future as I skipped 3G since it was basically the same thing only faster and as is somewhat obvious, while I like games, I am not that big on them.

I think I'll be going to stage something. Maybe I act to smash it in anger on the subway. Over here smartphnoes aren't exactly uncommon but still considered too expensive for the broad public. And the iPhone is the most expensive of them all. Staging somethign where one gets smashed should be funny. The stupid looks should be worth what I would else get for turning it in. Sadly we don't have a Apple Shop here, otherwise I would wear a Win7 shirt (I got that from a MS rep who wanted us to switch to Win7) and then smash it in front of the Apple store with a Sledgehammer, shouting "Apple is Evil! Long live Gates! The end is nigh! Abolish your Sins now and destroy the makings of the evil!"

Are you related to Linus Torvalds? Sounds like something his evil brother would do. He posed in front of a Yodobashi clerk for the Windows 7 launch holding Windows 7! Haha, quite funny.

I also liked the guys who got into the line of the iPhone launch, bought an iPhone and then smahed it right in from of all the others who were waiting in line. That was pretty funny.

I don't remember the name of the site but they had donations running for the gadgets and did this with several different "Must-Have" gadgets. The iPhone was just so hilarious bcause of all the people waiting eagerly in line to get one.

I 'see' the 'humour', but admit to hating those tucks. I really wish I could afford an iPhone 3GS and/or buy one. In Korea, I cannot because I am a foreigner. Strange, every country allows foreigners to get a phone, but Korea you either have to be slaved to Korea by marrying here, or be on some long enslavement for the government. Nine - you deserve a swat across the face!

Yes I do. But not for that... I never supported them in any way. I actually were pretty jealous at that time since I had to wait a few month until I could get mine.

But looking back I find it quite funny. Maybe I deserve a slap for that anyway....
