Default Best battery pack for iPhone?

I'm in the market for something light and compact. What do you use and are happy with?

I can definitely help you in this department but I gotta ask you a couple questions first so I can get a better idea of what youre looking for. Do you want the battery pack as a case? What is your price range?

I use a 'universal' pack that can be charged by solar energy as well as direct USB connection. The battery has a standard USB 'out' to charge any device that has a charging cable that plugs into a USB port.

@Matthew Ah yes, I should've been more specific. The battery pack would be used primarily while I'm out walking or biking. If I have a GPS app running, it drains the battery fairly quickly. Ideally I think I'd like a case just for ease of use. I've seen that some use an external battery connected via a cable, but I don't know how that would work in practice. Thanks!

@scorelessmusic Thanks. Solar powered.. sounds green and cool. Apparently you don't mind the cable. I'll check it out.

My boyfriend bought me the Brando Power Station and I am not too impressed with it. It doesn't even charge my iPhone to 100% when the battery is at 20% (i'd say it goes till 85% or so) and it sort of feels flimsy when its attached. I'd say stay away from this one Aeaea. Good luck in your search!

If you're in the market for battery pack cases - Mophie is the best out there.

The Fastmac IV Plus looks exciting:

    from Gizmodo:

"With their included app, the iPhone 3G and 3GS can control basically any IR-sensitive device you have as long as it's docked into the case. The case itself has a 1300 mAh battery, a built-in flash, a USB port for charging another device, and an on-off toggle. The price is $100, which is slightly higher than normal cases, but normal cases can't turn your TV on and off. It also has neat functions like being aware of your local channel guide and jumping to the correct channel, like a real grown-up universal remote."
