iPod touch 4G doesn't have IPS display!

That means the view angle is as bad as the 3G and 2G (which are both pretty rubbish). The resolution is nice and cost cutting is nice, but if the thinness of the iPod touch is that important that a better camera and a nicer display are taken out, Jobs and the gang need to rethink their strategies.

Anyone else agree on this?

I think the key issue was not thinness but marketing. I just looked at the ifixit breakup of iPod Touch 4g and it has a substantial plastic fill that just takes up space and doesn't do anything. They could've easily fit a fulfeatured camera in there.

The camera is a bit disappointing, but the IPS display, the lack of which I rue every time I use my iPod touch 2G, is pretty sad. Would love the Leica-like design of the iPhone 4 rather than this throw-on thinness of the new iPod touch. That said, I'll have to get one as my heavily abused iPod touch 2G is really really started to get bent: USB 1.1 speeds now from iTunes!
