I've been spending an neourmous amount of time with the game and have to say it is one of the best on the iDevice. The controls could be better, but are manageable enough.
Oh yeah, the hunt for the blueprints starts getting on my nerves. I completed the game already and only found little more than half.
Also, anyone got the deal with the hidden sectors? I got some coordinates and went there, but they turn out just to be as common as any other sectors out there.

The controls ruined it for me. I actually ended up preferring the feel of Warpgate, even with it's clunky combat system.
They are both fantastic games, though.

Yeah, the controls are far from perfect, I actually ended up choosing ships with the lowest steering rate. But you get used to it :)

The accelerometer controls work better on the ipad. They're not as twitchy by default but I guess you could tone them down in the options.

So...I just spent the entire weekend playing GoF2.
The controls were STILL terrible...but I decided to give it another 15 minutes....which turned into 48 hours. The game is just so addicting.

strangely enough, I didn't find the controls to be horrendous. Like chiffan said, it could be better, but it's certainly manageable. Wish there was an option for aim assist though... One thing we can all agree on though is how addictive GOF 2 really is. One of the best games on the iDevice imo.

Oh yes. Aim Assist would be swell.
