For phone service I've always used a pay-as-you-go. My first was a Virgin Mobile phone which I never really cared for, and now I have a tracfone that I actually rather enjoy. I still don't use it much, but the battery life is incredible compared to my old one and the display is much nicer. I can also get more bars in more locations.
As for a PDA, I've had 4 different PocketPCs ranging from PocketPC 2002 to WM6, and a Palm Tungsten|E. Sadly, I've never done much with any of them except some programming and playing games. My life would probably be a whole lot more organized if I started using the DA part of my PDAs :)

i've had just about every "style" of phone that has come out over the past 11-12 years. From candybar to flip to slide, etc...and just about every brand. I'm on my 2nd iphone ....started 3g then 3gs...before that though...i think it was a samsung slide phone.

Well, this may sound odd, but if the Chinese company, HiSound can make the next model of amp/DAP good, I may purchase one for only one reason: music playback and keep the touch for amped use or for apps.
It has been a faithful and very good music player for years, but no matter how clean its output is, there are better sounding options. Very few mind you, but I am enough of a junkie to think of buying another unit for audio only.

Don't judge me, but I use a Blackberry Curve 8330 as my primary communications device. I would switch to an iPhone, but I'm with a regional carrier and I have a great monthly plan with them (much less expensive than AT&T). I use my ipod touch for entertainment purposes, however.

After having an iDevice.. what I really want for my next phone (and away from this lame Pantech Matrix) is a touch screen phone.
All this touch screen is growing on me really fast.

A touch screen phone and the iPhone differ greatly. There are myriad touchscreen phones here that have to be operated with a nail or a pointy device and are slow and total rubbish. The iPhone is among a very elite few which can do the job effectively without looking stupid or wasting time.

My carrier really pushes the HTC Hero. It seems like a solid device, but I don't think it's as well made as the iphone, as far as the hardware goes.

I used to have a Nokia N95 (have been a loyal Nokia fan until the switch) and was using PSP for games. Nowadays, I seldom touch my PSP already.
