App file size issue?
I have a handful of apps that are more than twice the file size than they are advertised in itunes. For example, Super Monkey Ball 2 is advertised as 74.8 MB. In my itunes, the actual file is 180.3 MB. I'm not very far in the game, so I don't think that it's saved data or anything. Can I delete the file in itunes and redownload it for free on my ipod touch to see if the size goes down? I don't care about losing the data.

I believe you can delete. Once an app is paid for it stays free for the same user account(5 devices per account). Why delete the file though? Why not just delete then download for free on your iTouch? The game will start from scratch. Maybe I miss your point?

Thanks Ron. Yeah, I may try to delete on the computer and download on the itouch mainly to see if the file size goes back down to 74.8 MB's. I'll post how it goes.

I just did a little research and found that itunes advertises the .ipa (zip file) size for their apps and not the uncompressed size. I know the .ipa is what matters when people are downloading the file, but I would also like to know the file size, or amount of space, it's going to take up on my touch as well.
