If the iPhone continues to sell, there will be obvious need for more OEM suppliers as Foxconn alone may not be able to keep up. Pegatron have been pegged as expectant of drastic shipment increases of handset - if indeed they will be supplying Apple with iPhones, you better believe shipments will go up! Well... that is good, and bad. Different OEM supply chains means a lot of bad for reliability. What if a part goes wrong with a certain iteration of iPhone and not the other? What if that part is traced to one OEM even though both use the 'same' hardware.
Golly me, seems a bit scary.
