Barry Steakfries set to return to App Store with Age of Zombies

For all you dual-stick shooter and Barry Steakfries fans, here's some info on Halfbrick's upcoming Age of Zombies, which should be released next month (Oct). Going by their track record (Fruit Ninja, Monster Dash), AoZ should be another mindlessly fun game and another App Store bestseller.


From the creators of Fruit Ninja and Monster Dash comes the latest App store adventure for everyone’s favorite hero – Barry Steakfries!

Upon arriving at the laboratory of the evil Professor Brains, Barry discovers a plot to destroy mankind by sending zombies throughout time to wreak havoc! As a pro-shooting kind of guy, Barry rises to the challenge and steps through the portal, determined to save the world and make it home in time for dinner.

Players will blast their way through five unique worlds in this hilarious twin-stick shooter! Featuring zombie cavemen, mummies, ninjas and the legendary Zombie T-Rex, Barry has an action playground just waiting to be explored.

Age of Zombies includes the full story mode spanning five worlds with multiple levels, as well as Survival mode with global leaderboards for high score junkies. Everything has also been improved from the original Playstation Minis version, with updated graphics, new menus and the intuitive touch-specific controls and tutorials. This is the definitive Age of Zombies experience, dressed to impress as a Universal app for both iPhone and iPad.

I just bought Monster Dash earlier today and it gets pretty addicting (esp when I need to beat a friend's score) so I'm looking forward to seeing Barry again. The game looks interesting, will see then whether it's my kind of game or not.

Myself, I'm a bit tired of the Dual-Stick shooter genre. It seems no-one has really implemented anything new and interesting for ages, with all of the recent titles being mroe or less the same.
