Hey. What game would you wish to see on the iDevice?
I would love to see a MagicCarpet (Bullfrog games) remake. Ever since the appstore was announced for first time I thought that a Magic Carpet game would feel native on the iPhone.
Another Bullfrog title taht would work great on the iPhone would be Dungeon Keeper.
Other than that I would love to see a WingCommander: Privateer type of game.
My personal dream game would be though a Shadowrun RPG with isometric view, and Full Spectrum Warrior like touch controls. Conversations like those in Mass Effect, and music by Chris Hülsbeck.
What is your iPhone wishlist?

But I want the actual Shadowrun IP (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shadowrun ). I love the lore of the Shadowrun Universe and a RPG game based on it would be great.
Even tough I will be underwhelmed by it even if it would be the best game ever made. My expectations would be to high to ever be matched..
Thanks for the tip though.

I would love to see a true Heroes Of Might & Magic (no offense to Palm Heroes). I also think it would be great to see the old strategy series Age Of Wonders revitalized.

Let's see, there's Final Fantasy Tactics (or any other major FF title), a Blizzard game based on the Diablo/Warcraft series, and Baldur's Gate 1 or 2. Yeah I know, all very unlikely. But it's a wishlist :)

I know it'll never happen, buy I can dream, can't I?
Super Mario Brothers 1, 2, 3 & Super Mario Kart
Jailbreak and istall an emulator... If you have an original Super Mario ROM, it will work. It was nintendo, right?

You have some very, very good games up your wishlist. Actually, since reading your favs, I am certain that we think alike. magic Carpet would be great and so too would Wing Commander or Privateer or X. Otherwise, I want to see Ultima 7 or a game as deep with as much world interaction up and out.
Another game which might work well and be crazy addictive is Populous.

I would love to see Scribblenauts come to the iPhone. Very excited about Final Fantasy coming.
My biggest wish list item is the trivia game: You Don't Know Jack. Loved the announcer and his hilarious rants.
Any of the old Lucasarts Adventure games:
including...
Day of the Tentacle
Sam and Max Hit the Road
The Dig
and more Monkey Island!
Some Flash games that I would love to see come to the iPhone:
Neverending Light
RoseCamellia
Nanaca Crash
EDIT: and almost forgot... any of the Grow Cube Games. A set of them in one package would be great!
From the Dreamcast system I enjoyed Rayman, Fur Fighters and the Tombraider games. The PS system had the real Metal Gear Solid.

You DO know that if you jailbreak you can have all of them for free provided you still have originals via ScummVM (http://www.touchmyapps.com/2010/01/21/the-jbnator-diaries-scummvm-in-review/) + much much more?

I played Ultima 6.7. and 8 recently again (well, about 2 years ago, but my memory is still fresh) and I don't think they would work so well on the iPhone without changing too much. But in general a RPG as deep as Ultima would be incredible. Especially if it had the same "vibe" to it.
Populous and Powermonger might work, but would need some adjustments. But do you remember Mega-Lo-Maniac? This would be perfect on the iDevice. As well as the old BlueByte strategy games BattleIsle and Historyline.

There was some talk about a iPHone port of Scribblenauts for the iPhone after some obscure dev post on their facebook page. But i haven't heared anything about that since then.
More Makeovers of LA Clasics would be great. And I'm sure they're on the way.

I'd love to see the 5th Cell's Nintendo DS game Scribblenauts be ported to the iPhone/iPod Touch. I have no idea if there are any licensing issues, but if Rockstar can do it w/ GTA Chinatown Wars, then I can't see why this cannot be done as well. I don't have a DS, but really would like to play this game. I think the iDevice is the perfect platform for such a game and the online distribution allows for the dev to add new content easily through software updates or DLC.

Nine: I see why I always value your opinion: you have the same mind as me, but attached to better judgement.
By the way, Carpet Flight (http://www.touchmyapps.com/2010/02/02/carpet-flight-magic-carpet-with-or-without-the-magic/), while not Magic Carpet has debuted at the App Store.

Yes they belong to Nintendo. Once I upgrade to a 3rd gen touch, I'll jailbreak my old one and enjoy all the games I loved as a kid.
How do you get the original roms?

Sadly, this isn't anywhere near Magic Carpet, but it seem that at least someone else had the same idea ;) now we only have to convince EA (current holder of the IP) to do a remake.

I have ScummVM on my MacBook and love it! I do know about it's support for iPhone and have been tempted to jailbreak, but I like the OS updates. That, and I have some crazy fear in my head that I might accidentally do something crazy to my iPhone if given that much power.
(I'm also hoping that if Lucasarts releases these on iPhone that they will beef up the old games like they did to the original Secret of Monkey Island. Much like how Beneath A Steel Sky got "remastered")

Hopefully the c64 emulator on the appstore will bring a few of my old favorites to life! Frantic Freddy (my very first video game -not counting the knock-off pong machine we had!), Giana Sisters, Montezuma's Revenge....

Man, I hate it when I hit the wrong button! Anyway, here's attempt #2 at a post. I would love to see any of the following on the C64 emulator, though I doubt they'll make it for legal reasons:
M.U.L.E.
Mail Order Monsters
Countdown To Shutdown
Archon
Of course, Montezuma's Revenge would be pretty cool too.

Earth Worm Jim would be crazy cool on the iDevice, but not sure how the controls would be like.
Though I really want Rampage for the iDevice! :)

Eric, I used to play a ton of Archon on my apple ][e and ][c!
Have you tried React Games' iPhone release of Archon (http://bit.ly/Archon), it's actually quite good, and plays very true to the original. They also have a second game which is a "campaign mode" version of Archon called Archon:Conquest (http://bit.ly/ArchonConquest).
I was on the beta for Conquest and it's fun as well.
There is a lite version (http://bit.ly/ArchonLite) of the classic game that you could try for free.

I actually own both of the native Archon games, and I don't know if I just didn't give them enough of a chance, but I didn't really care for them. On the other hand, maybe I just don't remember the original enough and have grown beyond it over the years :)

I would also love to see Age of the Empires, but would settle for a game that was close enough.

Audiosurf is what I'm waiting for on the iPhone/iPod Touch. Rhythm Racer (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/rhythm-racer/id336718222?mt=8) has come close but is missing the graphic appeal. But it is free!
I'm also glad that Crayon Physics Deluxe (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/crayon-physics-deluxe/id300830915?mt=8) is on the iPhone/iPod Touch. One of my favorite games on the PC.
whatever

Definitely Scribblenauts (controls would be perfect) and Audiosurf (though I could probably settle for Riddim Ribbon if it had some decent music).

Also I feel it would a great fit for the scores of turn-based RPGs. Maybe even Fallout?

Fallout would be great. Or BlueBytes Incubation.
When I first heared that BlueByte got into iPhone development I got really exited that they may bring the Battle Isle series to the iDevice. Sadly they made only the Settlers. I bought the game just to support BlueByte so they may make a Battle Isle port. I didn't even started it up once.

Speaking about Blue Byte - I really want Albion - one of the best RPG games I ever played.

I have played so many games and i still continue to look for something that would trigger an awe on me. Can someone give me a list of good games.
