What do you expect in the 4th generation iPod Touch?

I want to see a video camera in the 4th gen touch, at least. Especially since the nano has one now.
I also want a lower price point so I can get major bang for my buck. In other words, twice the amount of memory
for the same amount I paid for the first gen 2 years ago. What am I missing?

My brother is waiting for the 4g... and is expecting the camera cause he wants one and will brag to me cus my 3g doesn't.

But I hope there will be battery life improvements and even faster speed :D

The only reason I would forsee them not putting a camera and mic in, would be that Apple is concerned that the Touch sales would cut into their iPhone sales. We could only hope though, right?

As for a memory card slot, unlikely.

A removable battery would be nice, but I wouldn't want them to put a cheap back on the touch. I carry a blackberry curve also, and it has mostly plastic parts with a thin plastic battery cover. Wouldn't want that.

I am completely realistic compared to you lads and lasses.

A camera to match the iPod Nano capabilities, and an FM radio. Built-in microphone.

Obviously, the capacity will be increased - it has been every generation and prices for the same number of GB has gone down. Still, I don't think I will need more than 16 GB. As long as the bottom model is the new generation and not a rehash of the last generation (as seen in the current 8GB model).

Unrealistic wishes:
track forward/back button on the unit.
Line in port (for recording from from external sources without requiring 30 pin connector)
Thicker with more powerful battery (definitely not going to happen)
Clear Rubber coating over the steel chassis so it doesn't slip all over and/or require a case.

Ah, we girls want pink iPod Touch! I couldn't find a nice pink cover so I got an orange one. But won't it be nice if the black part of the iPod Touch could come in an array of colors too? :)

Colors would be nice, although I think they'd release it for the iPhone first.

Removable batteries are even less likely than Flash support.

Still or video camera would be used occasionally.
GPS would be used occasionally.
A mic would be used more often.
FM radio would also be used more often.
A longer lasting battery would be appreciated every day as would the ability to delete/hide unused native apps.

It's convex now :) A concave reflective surface would make you thinner. But isn't there a App for that? To make you thinner?

But talking about the surface is a good point. I would love to see the comback of the aluminum case. Maybe as a full case this time without the black part at the bottom. Unibody style. I don't find the plastic backs very appealing.

Will the ipod touch ever get a 5-band graphic equalizer? I've tried embedding equalizer settings into some of my songs and setting the touch to a "flat" setting, but the songs still didn't sound the same way they did on the computer.

The EQ may forever be broken. iTunes has more than 10 graphic settings, but none are transferable, this I've tested because some people 'heard' a difference ala placebo. I'd rather Apple finally adapt a real EQ system (parametric) so that music gets smooth transitions between frequency channels.

I was 110% sure the 3rd Gen would have a camera, then bang they gave it to the nano. If the 4th gen does not have a camera I don't know what I am going to do haha. I don't think they would ever give it a microphone, because then it would be pretty much an iPhone.

The most important update I would like to see is a camera. I want to be able to take a picture and upload it immediately to facebook. Hopefully it can take decent, clear pictures. An upgraded battery would do well =] . A multitasking feature that will allow me to have multiple programs up. Also a flash player that will let me watch videos on other streaming web sites, such as megavideo and its infamous erotic counterpart ;)

They're obviously not going to include Flash and multi-tasking, as they would have put it into the iPad.

The video camera that was supposed to be in the ipt3g. Hopefully we'll get a 3GS camera, or the iPhone 4G's of this year.
