App Store Freebies Roundup
When it comes to App Store deals, nothing beats apps that have gone FREE (especially good ones) – even it is just for one day. Our Freebie round up today has a good mix of games that could be worthy additions to your app collection. For those of you who can’t get enough of the immensely popular numbers game, Sudoku! is a fully featured Sudoku title that comes with 20,000 puzzles, ranging from Easy to Devilish (5 difficulties). Also free today is Dragon Slaughter Episode III – Dragon King, a very solid tower defense that received a Grab It rating in our previous review. Earth Vs Moon, a great missile command type game that was featured as yesterday’s freeappaday freebie, remains a free download on iTunes (at least for the time being).

Spartacus: Blood and Sand now FREE for limited time

Fighting Game fans on the iDevice have undoubtedly been getting their fill (and unleashing countless fireballs) with the recently released Street Fighter IV. Not to be lost in the Capcom hype and buzz, Artifical Life’s Spartacus: Blood and Sand has just dropped in price from $4.99 to FREE. Based on the original Starz TV series of the same name (produced by Sam Raimi), the iPhone game features great visuals, solid controls and numerous gameplay modes. For those who like the genre and/or enjoy the well received TV show, this is one App Store deal that shouldn’t be missed.

For those of you keeping tabs on the Freeappaday initiative, you’ve likely been enjoying some pretty sweet free iDevice games on a daily basis. Well today’s Featured freebie is none other than Robocalypse, originally a Nintendo DS title that has charmed and been enjoyed by mobile gamers around the world.
In Robocalypse – Mobile Mayhem, players build and command robot armies to fend off attacks from the evil Demolisher and his near-endless supply of maniacal mechanical marauders.

AppStore News: CoD WW Zombies and Guerilla Bob update, GTA CW and BS DC go on sale
Well then, folks, it’s updates galore! Well, not “galore” per say, but nevertheless two major titles got updated today. One is the recently released Guerrilla Bob (TMA Review – Grab It) with the most notable addition of multiple save slots and the promise that not the whole game is reset on death, rather only the stage.
The other major title is, of course, Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies (TMA Review – Kiss It) – a first-person survival shooter that came out of nowhere late fall 2009 and was highly acclaimed by the critics. Among many other improvements include a new map Verrückt (Zombie Asylum) that is now available via In-App purchasing for a hefty price of $4.99.
For the steals and deals the recent blockbuster title, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (TMA Review – Double Kiss It) and the only game to have ever got a Double-Kiss It rating from TMA has been updated with a minor improvement of random selection from the iPod playlist as well as getting a price cut to $6.99 to celebrate the Chinese New Year. If you haven’t picked up it already, now is the time to do it!
And last but not least – Broken Sword: Director’s Cut (TMA Review – Kiss It) the best adventure game on the iPhone has recently been supplemented by the Spanish version Broken Sword : La Leyenda de los Templarios – Montaje del Director in addition to going on sale in celebration of Valentine’s day. If you are a fan of adventure games – this is not to be missed.

Price Drop: Golvellius – The Valley of Doom
Light-hearted levelling RPGs like Zenonia and Inotia: A Wanderer of Luone have captured the App Store’s heart. Well, it doesn’t get much lighter than Golvellius – The Valley of Doom, a throwback to the bygone days of 8-bit console RPG games. In fact, it was a hit in the late 1980’s on Sega’s Master System and has been a classic ever since. Well, thanks to its benevolent dev, DotEmu, it gets the FREE treatment. 1.3 brings a number of improvements which have been requested by users since version 1.0 and is much better. It is time to RPG the 80’s way!

Apparently FreeAppADay.com is not the only site, sponsoring game giveaways. Thanks to the French iPhone site FunTouch.net, Agharta Studios have dropped 1112 episode 01 (the first ever adventure game designed exclusively for the iPhone to FREE for a limited time. This is an excellent game, critically acclaimed by leading iPhone blogs and featured in our The App Store’s Best Adventure Games. So what are you waiting for – there’s no reason NOT to get it while it’s free whilst preparing for the second part which was hinted at in TMA’s interview with Agharta Studio.
AppStore Gaming Steals and Deals: Arcade, RPG, and lots ‘n lots of guns
Once again TMA is bringing you, our cherished readers, notable releases, sales and downright giveaways handpicked by your’s truly.
First thing I wanted to note is that the just-released original puzzler, Hand of Greed has been set FREE for a very limited time. In this game you take the role of a thief who must reach treasures, avoiding blades and other manner of hurtful devices. It is a fun romp. Did I mention that it’s FREE?

I have already played it for some time thanks to an ad-hoc build from the developers and will do a review of it soon. Price drop: CYEARS ShootingSimulator – FREE to dodge!
Sometime ago I reviewed CYEARS ShootingSimulator an interesting and original game that provided the unique perspective on how it would feel like being the enemy in a vertical shooter game. And while it got a Slap it rating from me, my main concern was the price/quality ration. Well, the developers have decided to drop it to FREE! I don’t know for how long it will last, but there is no reason not to get and find out whether I was right or not. And you can always check out my review again.
