Rumour Mill: iPad mini 2 will feature high resolution display

According to Digitimes’ sources, the iPad mini 2′s display will get a boost in resolution, which isn’t all that surprising considering how most, if not all, consider the current mini’s 1024×768 display to be its weakest link.

Apple’s next-generation iPad mini will focus mostly on enhancing the device’s display resolution, according to Taiwan-based backlighting industry sources.

The sources have yet to specify whether the device will use Apple’s Retina Display technology to enhanced resolution, but market observers said it is highly likely based on the development of past Apple products such as the iPhone and 9.7-inch iPad series.

First released back in 2002 on the PS2, the follow up to the first ever 3D GTA has arrived on iOS and Android in form of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City 10th Anniversary Edition

From the decade of big hair, excess and pastel suits comes a story of one man’s rise to the top of the criminal pile. Vice City, a huge urban sprawl ranging from the beach to the swamps and the glitz to the ghetto, was one of the most varied, complete and alive digital cities ever created. Casio’s bluetooth G-Shock pairs with iPhone, will alert you of incoming calls and emails

Smart watches have been gaining traction over two years and the latest to emerge is Casio’s ever reliable G-SHOCK, or more specially, the GB6900AA Series. Aside from the accustomed features like resistance to shock and water, this Bluetooth 4.0 will pair with an iPhone and G-SHOCK+ app (iPhone 4S and 5) for automatic time sync, alerts for incoming calls and emails, and a Find Me function to help you locate your misplaced/out-of-range iPhone. As for the battery life, thanks to the lower power consumption of BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy), users will get approximately 2 years on a single button-cell battery – this is assuming that the bluetooth function is used for 12 hours per day. Impressive.

The GB6900 retails for $180 and is available at select Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom and Tourneau. Check out the video trailers and specifications after the break.

Youtube app now optimized for iPad and iPhone 5

Shortly after Google added the ability to setup multiple accounts to the official Gmail app, their standalone YouTube app for iOS was also updated with support for the iPad and iPhone 5. Now users can comfortably get their YouTube fix on the iPad or iPad mini and iPhone 5. About time too as it’s been almost 3 months since it was first released and users had to resort to other apps like Jasmine (a great app itself) or mobile Safari while browsing through videos on the iPad or latest iPhone. Other new features in the update include AirPlay support, adding and removing videos from your playlists, clickable links in video descriptions and improved accessibility with VoiceOver.
