By and large, cellphone cases have traditionally been designed to withstand drops from moderate heights, say several feet or more – certainly not from outer space. In their latest publicity stunt (a recent one being an iPad test drop), accessories maker G-Form have once again attempted to see if an iPod Touch using their signature XTREME case (designed for the iPhone 5) can survive a 100,000 foot free fall from the stratosphere.
With voice messaging in Messenger, you open a conversation (new or existing) are shown a red “record” button. Similar to Facebook Poke’s video recording interface, you press and hold the button, talk or record a sound up to one minute in length, and then release the button to stop recording. You can then send then audio message which appears in the conversation stream as a little wave form that can be listened to. Voice messages will also be available for listening from the web interface.
Boolagoon, a new studio founded earlier this year by three former Angry Birds developers from Rovio, have been cooking up a new iOS game - Noble Nutlings - set for release next thursday. No, it doesn’t involve catapults or birds, but rather some nutty squirrels and a rickety wooden cart. Billed as an physics based action-racing, you’re charged with piloting said squirrels through 36 levels of terrain (while trying to keep them safely onboard), with an emphasis on being able to customize your ride with fruits and other power-boosting objects.
You may already have noticed that into the New Year, the Do Not Disturb feature on iOS 6 stays on even after the scheduled time has elapsed. If so, fret not because you’re not alone. Apple has acknowledged the issue via their support page, basically stating that all will be well after Monday, January 7th.
Do Not Disturb scheduling feature will resume normal functionality after January 7, 2013. Before this date, you should manually turn the Do Not Disturb feature on or off.
