Burning Tires 3D in Review – Yet Another Racer

burningtires1There is little doubt that the iDevice makes a great platform for racers. One can see that by the 5 pages of racing games in the AppStore. With so many to choose from, and with little variety between them, a game has to justify its existence in order to thrive. This is where Burning Tires 3D faces a dilemma. Is it good or innovative enough to warrant a purchase? Unfortunately, unlike Fishlab’s other racing game, Powerboat Challenge 3D, there is little reasons that legitimize this game.

Need for Speed: Undercover – Internet’s screenies populating

needforspeed2 needforspeed1

Everyone and their mother is aware that Need for Speed:  Undercover is coming soon to the iPhone platform and that release is ~about~ a month away.  It looks fab and knowing EA – their flagship racer will not be put too early to the App Store and in no way will they let it fall behind the competition.  It will be the new Messiah App for the iPhone – or it will be the last straw.  There is much hope riding on this app that has until now been the recipient of a mishmash of reviews that are not inspiring the greatest of confidence in fans for the iPhone version.

SlotZ Racer in Review – One Button of Pure Unadulterated Fun!!

slotz1Racing games.  It feels like I’ve played them since the beginning of time.  I remember playing Turbo on my ColecoVision (I know… what the heck is/was a ColecoVision?).  I played Pole Position and OutRun in the arcades, and the updated racers from Need for Speed, Forza to Burnout.  I don’t want to toot my own horn (no pun intended) but I’m pretty good at them…

SlotZ Racer – Now Available + Impressions

slotzracer2Earlier this week, I wrote about Paper Pilot, a game that brought back lots of good childhood memories. Well Freeverse has done it again for me with the release of SlotZ Racer, a slot car racing game for the iPhone/iPod Touch. I had a chance to test drive SlotZ and I am definitely having fun with this game. With essentially one button to play the game (hold to accelerate and release to slow down), SlotZ is easy to pick up and play and can even be enjoyed by up to 4 players using the same device.

Snail Mail – A Snail takes top spot on iPhone racers?

When was the last time anyone played a racing game with a Snail as the main choice of character or ride? Never? Almost never? That’s why when I first saw this game, I had no idea what to expect. Was I in for a “snail-paced” and boring racer? Or as the saying goes, never judge a book by its cover? Even after just several minutes of Snail Mail action, I knew I had the answer to my question. Snail Mail is an amazingly fun and fast paced racing game for the iPhone.
