The Dog – Puppy Pets in Review: A Bit Ruff!
As a big dog lover, I was excited to get The Dog – Puppy Pets to review. I installed it to my iPhone and booted up. I was presented with five breeds of dog to choose from: Labrador, Beagle, Boxer, Yorkshire Terrier and German Shephard. I chose Labrador, named it and went on my way.
Astro Ranch in Review – Space Cowboy!
Remember the good ol’ days of old-school console gaming? Graphics existed to make the game funner, music existed to make gaming cuter, and all shaken together, it was pure bliss. Back then fussy RPG’s, fast racers, and stickly puzzlers alike adhered to the three pillars: visuals, sounduals, and playuals, but playuals most of all. Astro Ranch is nearly a full-on throwback to those days – it looks, sounds, and mostly, plays great and is as addictive as it is absurd. It is a quasi-RPG simulation about farming and friendship and is as fun as a barrel of montkeys (play it and you’ll see why this ain’t a splelling mistake). Please feel free to discuss this review of Astro Ranch in our forums.
Artist Colony in Review – Truly a work of art!
Ah, the artistic person! Sometimes it seems they grow on trees. But until the artist becomes prominent enough for us common folk to know their name it is a long journey to the top. And for some this journey takes them to so-called artist communes or colonies – places where groups of artistic types hang out and try to create something great. Have you ever wondered what really goes on in there apart from the obvious sex, drugs and rock and roll? Thanks to I-play’s latest, Artist Colony, you can have the entire experience, but from the safety and relative drug-free confines of your own two hands. Feel free to discuss this review of Artist Colony in our forums.
Pocket Chef in Review – Become a Master Chef!
Gameloft’s Pocket Chef is a 3D cooking game for the iPhone/iPod Touch. It’ll be very familiar to those who have played games like Cooking Mama, particularly if you’ve played it on the Nintendo DS. Feel free to discuss this review of Pocket Chef in our forums.
Carpet Flight – Magic Carpet with or without the Magic
In the golden age of 3D gaming, a lot of truly groundbreaking titles smashed into software shops to dazzle fans. One of the best back in the mid nineties and still a benchmark title is Magic Carpet by Bullfrog games. Not sure how much magic is in the MellisugaSoft’s Carpet Flight, but at least there is a glimmering bit of borrowed inspiration. Carpet Flight isn’t an action game; it plays closer to Glyder than anything and could be called relaxing.
Funny, this game popped up after a request in our forums for an iDevice Magic Carpet.
Trump Tycoon in Review: A Raw Deal
With various tycoon games left and right making a killing on the App Store, it’s about time the iconic Donald Trump lent his name to a popular genre which he himself represents. Enter Trump Tycoon.
Sexy Maid Service – get dirty with Megan
iFun4All want to show our insular iDevice world the Playboy of a new iGeneration. Sexy Maid Service is the first among a series of “subtle and classy” interactive erotica. According to iFun4All’s sexy producer Piotr Bielatowicz, this new game series will accomplish the sexy without falling into the porn category. But before we get too far, I have a slight bone to pick with the lads at iFun4All: flip TMA’s banner around just a bit, and… Well, aside from the incumbent lawsuit between us, Sexy Maid Service looks like a fun way to safely enjoy housework and Megan.
iFun4all, Sexy Maid Service – $2.99
A little more sumthin’ sumthin’ after the gap:
Sims3 World Adventure – Safari-ing its way to the iDevice
Sims3 is already a great game for the iDevice. But EA aren’t about to stop with fishing and baking. The Sims3 World Adventure will bring a host of new features to the simulation franchise including: famous destinations, loads of new goals, much more custom content, and the ability to import your favourite characters from Sims3! Look for it at the App Store … sometime. We will keep you posted.
In the meantime, read TMA’s review of Sims3 and if you haven’t already, download it!
Electronic Arts, The Sims 3 – $6.99
More screenies etc., after the gap:
iQuarium in Review – The portable fish tank (Fish included!)
Have you always wanted a fish to care for and own that awesome looking aquarium for it to live in? Well, now you can with iQuarium! Developed by Infinite Dreams, iQuarium is hands down one of the best looking apps for the iDevice, especially on the 3GS. Not only does it look great, but how cool is it to have a fully interactive and intuitive fish living right in your iPhone/iPod Touch? Feel free to discuss this review of iQuarium in our forums.
Emergency City in Review – A Guide to Good Governance
A building bursts into flames. Shooting erupts in the building a block away. In another part of the city, there is a major virus outbreak. Good governance means providing timely and efficient services. In busy and crowded cities, sometimes there are several emergencies to attend to in a single day. In real life, however, action is not as efficient and quick.
