ngmoco, the fine folks behind Rolando, has released a lite version of the beautifully designed and well executed game. Rolando was one of the first games to hit the iPhone/iPod Touch that I truly considered a defining game for the platform. Its long been one of my favorite titles at the App Store and one that cements the iPhone/Touch as a serious contender as a mobile gaming device. Rolando Lite will take you through the tutorial levels of the first world Honeycup Meadows and give you a taste of how the game is played. If you haven’t tried Rolando ($5.99) just yet, grab the lite version here and see what all the fuss is about.
It’s tempting to judge a game by the companionship it keeps. Payback falls victim to this by the obvious comparisons to the original GTA I and GTA II. It has the immense task of measuring up to one of the greatest and well recognized gaming franchise in current history. So, does Payback meet these great expectations? Does it deserve a place in the App Store pantheon of great games? Is it worth spending $6.99? I say yes. Payback is, without a doubt, the most comprehensive gaming experience the App Store has to offer.
Com2uS Corp, the developers behind The Chronicles of Inotia: Legend of Feanor and Crazy Hotdogs has released a survival horror title in Trapped: Undead Infection. Playing as a scientist trapped in a bio-research facility, you have no recollection of who you are and what’s happening around you. One thing is for certain: zombies are everywhere and you must defend yourself with an assortment of weapons (stun guns, pistols, shotguns) as well as solve puzzles along the way.
Matt here, your newest TouchMyApps writer. For my first review (of which there will be many!), I’m reviewing Toy Bot Diaries 3. Having not played Toy Bot Diaries 1 & 2, the series is new to me. If Toy Bot Diaries is new to you, here’s a little back story. In the first Toy Bot Diaries, there is a strange machine which plagues Toy Bot. In Entry 2, Toy Bot climbs out of the sewers and into the skies! In Entry 3, Toy Bot has gone outer space; it’s the next frontier for our little metal friend. He’s off to rescue King Bot from the clutches of the evil War Bot who is bent on destroying the earth!
Christmas has arrived early for iPhone gamers. Two of the most talked about and eagerly awaited games for the iPhone are now both available. Yesterday, it was SimCity that made the rounds. Today, we have Rolando hitting the App Store and not a moment too soon. Having spent sometime testing it out, I can say that it is indeed a wonderfully executed title. It has responsive and easy to use controls, well designed levels that offer plenty of engaging obstacles, eye candy visuals, a catchy sound track and did I mention fun? Yes, very fun! You will begin to realize the creativity and high level of production that went into Roland even after just several minutes into the game. The early App Store reviews have been very positive and Rolando certainly deserves no less.
When Toy Bot Diaries first came out for the iPhone, some touted the title as a truly original game for the handheld phone. Reviews were generally positive and well received by most gamers. Now IUGO Mobile Entertainment has released part 2 in the series.
