Flatspace in Review – Lost in Flatspace!

review-flatspace-main

One of my favourite game genres is open-space exploration. In the early 1990s, I fell in love with Origin’s Privateer and up a logical progressive ladder through the X series. The freedom to go anywhere, to do anything, and to be anyone is appealing. Imagine my excitement when I noticed that finally an open world space faring game has come to the iPhone! Now double it and read on!

Secret of the Lost Cavern Episode 1 in Review – Sabretooth tigers, cave drawing that move and handprints that glow!

review-secret-of-the-lost-cavern-main

It seems the iDevice has successfully proved as being a more than viable platform for adventure games. Though there were virtually none at the App Store not more than half a year ago, more and more really solid titles are beginning to make their way to the “Jesus” phone! Following the footsteps of Tetraedge Studios, Coladia, a relatively new studio, have undertaken the porting of quite recent PC adventure games to the iPhone. And today we’ll be reviewing their first project, the episodic adventure Secret of the Lost Cavern.

Jules Verne’s Secrets of the Mysterious Island in Review – Monkey business

Review-Games-SOTMI-IMG_0876

I ain’t monkeying around: Secrets of the Mysterious Island (SOTMI) in many ways is a better game than its predecessor and thanks to its adventure-devout dev team, makes great use of the iPhone hardware. It also introduces the sort of fast user-switching made famous by Beneath a Steel Sky but heels on a vast, explorative engine. To really understand all of its goodness, you need time, a comfortable seat, and some persuasion because this is a big, engrossing game.

We posted a walkthrough for SOTMI earlier – you may need it ;).

Secrets of Mysterious Island Walkthrough

Chillingo’s sequel to the popular Return to Mysterious Island adventure game made a surprise debut at the App Store, surprising both Chillingo and reviewers alike. One thing noted in the Return to Mysterious Island review is that the game is both immense and difficult, leading to the official Tetraedge walkthrough. Both aspects lend themselves to excellent adventure gaming, but users need a break. Well, TMA have been given one to pass on to you. The below link will direct you to the spoils of a walkthrough of Secrets of Mysterious Island.

Stranded! in Review – Find out what Robinson Crusoe felt like!

review-stranded-main

Robinson Crusoe is one of my favourite books of all time. It’s a tale of a shipwrecked man, who survived only thanks to his wit and skill is apparently loved by a lot of other folks as well. Numerous movie reinterpretations of the theme have been made and now, finally, you can find out how it would feel like being shipwrecked on an island on your very own iPhone/iPod Touch!

Adventure games galore from Tetraedge Games

news-agg-main

As I said many many… many times, the iPhone is still extremely lacking in the adventure games genre. Well, a small company by the name of Tetraedge Games, responsible for such outstanding games as Jules Verne’s Return To Mysterious Island and the hot new sequel Jules Verne’s Secrets Of The Mysterious Island, as well as the upcoming recently scooped Dracula Path Of The Dragon (only 3 weeks left), has set out to change that.
