We know in some countries, people pay to smash up plates and bowls in a room to de-stress. Now you can de-stress in a fun and less messy way by playing IndieAn’s new blast them all off tank shooter game, Heavy Mach.
No more chortling over farts or breasts, the world has voted and iDracula the App Store’s new Lord and Master; it is the new Top Paid App. In fact, it is a clean sweep of the USA, Canada, UK, Japan and France. Whose finger did developer More Games Entertainment have to pull to get there? Not sure, but I am certain it was enough all night work to leave the poor souls bloodless, cold and ready to devour.
Our review pointed out some of its strengths but iDracula has to be played to truly be appreciated. Quick and smooth with great graphics and engine work, iDracula is bound to remain a genre-defining game for the iPhone despite carrying such a small pricetag.
Take a look at Top App of the World from time to time to see how your favourite apps fare in global rankings.
Metal Gear Solid is easily my favorite video game series of all time. What’s not to like? MGS has always been loaded with gripping cinematic story lines, stealthy gameplay, a variety of combat methods (sniping!) and some of the best visuals for every console its been on. While Metal Gear Touch has been made specifically for the iPhone/iPod Touch, it won’t be a full-fledged MGS game we’re accustomed to. Konami has recently debuted a new website that reveals more info regarding its gameplay:
Wage battle using intuitive touch-based shooting controls. Solid Snake’s final battle recreated on the battlefield of your 3.5-inch widescreen display!…Control the action with your fingers using the “Multi-touch interface” of the iPhone/iPod Touch. Trace your fingers on teh screen to take aim, and shooting by tapping. Pinch out or Pinch in to zoom-in/out on targets and snipe them from a distance.
Judging from what’s been revealed on the website, it looks like Konami has another “solid” Metal Gear game on their hands. Screenshots and video after the jump.
Paramount has just released what could be their best App Store offering to date in Shooter. If you enjoyed watching the movie starring Mark Walberg and love Sniper/Shooting games, then the surprisingly deep Shooter is a must have for your iPhone/iPod Touch. (did I mention that the intro price is only $0.99?)
Shooter – The Official Movie Game is one of the first true 1st person shooters to be released on the iPhone and iPod Touch. As Gunnery Sergeant Bob Lee Swagger, you must clear your name after being accused of an assassination attempt on the President. Stealthy pursuit, a steady hand and nerves of steel will allow you to eliminate those responsible.
We previously looked at i Sniper, a decent game that was probably the best of its kind when it was first released. With the arrival of Shooter, there’s no question who’s the new king of the (Sniper) hill. Impressions and screenshots after the jump.
I will say this now. Stop reading this review and pick up the game now at the current $0.99 price before it increases. For goodness sakes, go!
For those who are unconvinced, I will hope to explain why I believe iDracula is currently one of the better games the App Store has to offer and why this should be on your “get quick” list.

Zombie fans rejoice. Mika Mobile’s first App Store release will have you roasting, maiming, beheading and blowing up zombies in this uniquely animated (reminiscent of Alien Hominid) zombie game.
When your town is overrun by the walking dead, there’s only one thing left to do – go through their pockets and look for loose change! As the lone survivor of a zombie apocalypse, it’s up to you to battle legions of the undead in a never ending fight for survival! How long can you hold out? Scrounge for cash and ammunition, and buy up to 15 upgradeable weapons as your inevitable doom closes in around you…
Zombieville USA is a simple to play yet hard to master survival “horror”, where there’s more to player strategy than meets the eye. Unlike dozens of other arcade zombie titles, careful resource management does play a vital role in your quest to fend off hungry zombies.
Chillingo has dropped by TouchMyApps to give us the scoop on their soon to be released iDracula, an action packed title that transports you into a Van Helsing like world. While not a whole lot is known about the game at this time, we’ve been able uncover some details regarding weapons, gameplay and controls that should wet your appetite. More info and screenshots after the break.
It’s tempting to judge a game by the companionship it keeps. Payback falls victim to this by the obvious comparisons to the original GTA I and GTA II. It has the immense task of measuring up to one of the greatest and well recognized gaming franchise in current history. So, does Payback meet these great expectations? Does it deserve a place in the App Store pantheon of great games? Is it worth spending $6.99? I say yes. Payback is, without a doubt, the most comprehensive gaming experience the App Store has to offer.
Update: Our review is now up! Read it here
Payback, a Grand Theft Auto inspired game, was perhaps one of the first highly anticipated titles to be released for the iPhone/iPod in 2009. Due to the discovery of a major bug in the game on launch date (Jan 15th) though, Apex Designs had to pull it from the App Store to iron out the kinks. Well Apex has let TouchMyApps know that Payback will be indeed be out later tonight at the US App Store. We’ve already got our copy in hand and are working hard to bring you a review ASAP. So stay tuned and be sure to check back for this seriously huge and sweeeeet game. When I say huge, I mean 200mb+ of awesomeness.
