Paypal app gets Bump feature in 2.0 update

PayPal has just released a great update to their iPhone app, one with plenty of new features and a completely new interface. If you thought the old version looked a bit too drab, this 2.0 update should make sending money a whole lot easier on the eyes. Aside from the aesthetics, PayPal has also introduced the “bump” feature to initiate money transfer (mimicking the popular Bump app). Here’s whats new:
- Brand new look and feel!
- Bump: Easily start by bumping iPhones.
- Withdraw funds from your PayPal balance.
- Request Money: Get paid faster, it’s the easy way to ask for the money you are owed.
- Split the Check: Instantly split the bill, calculate tip, and request everyone’s share.
- Collect Money: Ask for contributions from a group for an event, gift, or cause.
- Set Reminders: Never miss rent or a bill.
- Refer the app to a friend
For those who use PayPal regularly (or once in a blue moon), the new update makes the app even more useful. Be sure to check out the excellent video trailer highlighting some of the new additions after the break.

MortgagePRO – mortgage your castle to afford it
Not sure what it’s all about as my Chinese is no better than my aptitude for good humour. But, I can tell that MortgagePRO isn’t your typical mortgage app – it’s for professionals wishing to bolster their career, their portfolio, and their earnings. It connects to Hong Kong’s largest and most influential banks to give up to the date rates and (presumably) more. Right, so I’m sure there are worse ways to doff a grand, but I can’t think of any at the moment. Certainly if you can make a little (or a lot) of extra dosh from mortgage trading, you probably have a natural aptitude for missing over-priced iDevice finance apps which undoubtedly have cheaper, less gimmicky alternatives.

PocketMoney Updated – Charts, Themes, Receipt photos and more!
My favourite personal finance app and simply one of the best ones out there in the App Store has just received a MAJOR update. With the release of PocketMoney 3.0, Catamount Software have added tons of new features. Even the previous version earned a Kiss It rating in my review and with the latest release it’s simply a crime not to pick it up. Granted, the major updates – Themes, Receipt Photos and Built-in Charts are available as in-app purchases for $0.99, $0.99 and $2.99 respectively, but still – there are lots of features that are available for free. More info after the gap.

PocketMoney in review – A penny saved is a penny earned! + 2 Promo Codes!
Hola, folks! Tracking your money in general, and cash in particular is tough. It simply flies away and before you can blink your eyes, you’re stuck with an empty wallet and 2 weeks until your next paycheque. Especially on vacations! And desktops apps are usually no good since when you finally get to one, you can hardly remember how much you spent and where you spend it! I am only precise to about 50$ from of total output per week. And vacation time is always a financial nightmare!
Well, your troubles are over, PocketMoney springs to the rescue! Now you can enter your transactions as they happen (ok, maybe doing this at a disco would NOT be such a good idea) and not have to sort out dozens of bills and cheques later, or try to remember where those missing 100$ went. What’s more, you can even export the data to your computer in one of 3 universally supported formats! How’s that for a money-saving app?
Apps to Replace your iDevice’s Preinstalled Applications

I know who you are. You are one of two people. Person number one has an unjailbroken iPhone and really despises the included Stock and Weather apps. He wishes to jailbreak his sacred device, but cherishes it too much to place the warranty at risk. So, how does he deal with apps that he never uses and cannot hide or remove? Well, he just leaves them on the last page of his iPhone/iPod Touch, thinking that he could forget about them forever. Think again. Person number two, on the other hand, has jailbroken it and is really happy he did so because now with SBSettings installed, he can hide the unwanted Voice Recorder app. After hiding those nasty preinstalled apps, you replaced them with better alternatives. Right? Don’t fret. Regardless of which person you are, the applications you will see in this post will make you wonder why Apple didn’t include these instead when they shipped the iDevice.
BillMinder in Review – Managing Your IOU’s Is As Easy As ABC!
Finance apps can be lifesavers. They help you track expenses, balance your budget, even send or receive money. We all pay bills, and having an app that helps show you when and how much you need to be paying can take the stress out of it all. Return7 answers your needs with a stylish application that’s rich in features and makes use of the enhanced features of the latest iPhone OS.
BillTracker in Review – Useful Little App
With the power of mobile phones increasing by the day, a lot of manual note taking or task tracking has been shifted from traditional paper-based notepads to the mobile phone. The biggest reason, I think, is because any modern person cannot leave home without their mobile phone; combining the phone with other daily tracking functions is the next logical step. This is where BillTracker comes in.
SplashMoney in Review – Money Well Spent?
After having tried Budget, iExpenseit and PocketMoney I figured that I needed a program that could show me where my money was going, keep track of accounts, allow for income entries, and properly support the yen.
Other programs either didn’t support the yen at all, or they simply replaced the dollar sign with a yen sign. Either way, monetary values still read dollars with denominations for cents.
CompareMe in Review- A Tool for Hard Times?

As a typical guy, I never compare prices or haggle/ bargain/ negotiate when I buy stuff, unless it’s a big purchase like a big-screen TV, computer or whatever. I never shop around comparing how much brand A of sugar is to brand B. So when I got this app, I thought that I will have no use for it. However, people around me thought otherwise…
Now for something completely different: Bloomberg on your iPhone
The name Bloomberg is quite synonymous with the world of business and financial news. It also is a leader in providing timely market data and technology (its Bloomberg terminals are quite sweet). So it makes quite a lot of sense for this titan to have one of the best finance apps on the Iphone.
