Rocky Artue in Review – Yes… I know that Rhymes
In the culinary world, the concept of fusion cuisine is explored with varying degrees of success and failure. The same is true for games. There has been a blending of such genres like action and RPGs. Rocky Artue fused two genres together to form the first true, in my opinion and recollection, on-rails platformer. There is no other way to describe this.

I will say this now. Stop reading this review and pick up the game now at the current $0.99 price before it increases. For goodness sakes, go!
For those who are unconvinced, I will hope to explain why I believe iDracula is currently one of the better games the App Store has to offer and why this should be on your “get quick” list.
Vector Tanks in Review – Old School Has A New Face
There was an old NBA Jam machine in my local deli. Word got around that if you pressed a certain combination of buttons and joystick directions, you would be able to access a small game called Battlezone. As the forefather of Vector Tanks, there is much that is taken from the game: The wireframe graphics, the feel of the controls, the smell of cheesesteaks on the grill (ok, maybe not that one). Yet, Vector Takes take the original formula and kicks it like its 2009… which it is.
Reign of Swords in Review – Forsooth Tis Fun
There’s something all pervasive about the Medieval Times that influences RPG and strategy games. You can have a game set in the year 3054 and still find armor clad heroes and heroines with swords. Even mystical lands filled with dwarves, orcs, and elves find themselves subject to the restraints of this swords and sorcery treatment. Not deviating from this formula, Punch Entertainment’s Reign of Swords fits squarely with its brethren. Yet, for an App Store that is still seeking to fill out its genre coffers, this game is a welcome addition.
WeDict Pro in Review – No More Freebies
There was once a time when WeDict was a half-decent free dictionary. It sufficed for the basic needs of many people who deemed literacy a high priority in their lives. Between that time and now, the freebie faded away and WeDict Pro, the full paid version, remained. While more robust in functions and features than its free predecessor, does WeDict Pro have enough to justify its (as many would consider) hefty price?
Burning Tires 3D in Review – Yet Another Racer
There is little doubt that the iDevice makes a great platform for racers. One can see that by the 5 pages of racing games in the AppStore. With so many to choose from, and with little variety between them, a game has to justify its existence in order to thrive. This is where Burning Tires 3D faces a dilemma. Is it good or innovative enough to warrant a purchase? Unfortunately, unlike Fishlab’s other racing game, Powerboat Challenge 3D, there is little reasons that legitimize this game.
iShoot in Review – Rags to Riches
Ethan Nicholas and his game, iShoot, represent the dreams and ambitions of the thousands of independent developers that flock towards the AppStore. He went from obscurity, which lasted for months, to recognition and renown for both his business acumen and for the quality of iShoot. He did so well that at the current time of writing, iShoot has been on the top 100 paid apps list for over a month.
gFlash Pro in Review – Flashing… in a Good Way
I find that I’m using my iTouch less as a music player and more as an extremely portable computer. I spend more time surfing the web, using apps, and playing games than I do just sitting there listening to music. This is a testimony to the versatility and functionality that Apps, such as gFlash Pro, bring to this wonderful platform.
Baseball Superstars 2009 in Review – Animelicious + 1 Promo Code Giveaway!
It is no small statement to say that sports games contribute largely to a console’s success. In Apple’s bid to legitimize their iDevice platform to the same level as their portable competitors, this is one area that is, unfortunately, severely lacking. With less than a handful of fully fleshed out sports games, any addition to the app store is a welcome one and a huge step forward in cementing the iPhone and iTouch as the gaming system it has the potential to be.
Up There in Review – Raise the Roof
Sometimes well executed simplicity is all it takes to make a great game. Up there is an amazing example of this concept. It has a singular objective, simple yet well done graphics, and one song. Yet, it captures that “it” quality that all developers are seeking in their games.
