I was pretty excited to get to review a new puzzle game named Flip Disc from Chillingo, after all they brought us The Quest and iDracula, among other quality games. The concept of the game is very simple, rotate the five discs and form a line of the same color of different colored gems that are constantly flowing from the outermost disc first to the center. If you form 10 lines, you move on the next level. Sound easy enough? Let’s see…
When I was a little girl, my mother fueled my interest in old B&W science fiction movies that weren’t very good at all. They were entertaining though and many laughable. These types of movies are commonly known as “B-Movies” and many a Saturday I spent watching them totally transfixed. I would also freak out over movies like “My husband is a monster from outer space” or “Giant Brains” which threatened to take over the world. As I got older, watching giant spiders made me shudder but also laugh at the same time at the terrible special effects. I grew to really enjoy these bad B-movies, so if you are a sci-fi aficionado, you’ll want to give Otto Matic: Alien Invasion a very close look.
Let’s rewind to April 2004 shall we? Five years ago the beloved Bobby Carrot was born! Bobby Carrot started off as a J2ME Mobile game. To celebrate the 5th anniversary of Bobby Carrot, FDG software has started releasing four of the Bobby Carrot prequels priced at only $0.99 every month. Let’s see how the first prequel stacks up against the most recent Bobby Carrot game.

Time Management Fans Rejoice! In the new Time Management game, Fruit Juice Tycoon (formerly known as Blue Mango Twist), you are Nancy, a brand new fruit juice maker who is working her way up to become in the big leagues in the fruit juice world. This is a TM game with an actual storyline unlike contemporaries like Diner Dash and Chocolate Shop Frenzy. Sound easy just making juice? It is at first, but you have quite a deep and fun filled challenge ahead of you.
Tower Defense has just gotten a very promising upgrade in the form of InMotion Software’s Dungeon Defense:Crypt Edition. This Tower Defense game has come out of seemingly nowhere. The graphically excellent game has a lot of TD fans excited with good reason but can it compete with the “big boys” like Field Runners and the even newer ElementalMonster TD?
Billy Garretsen, the president of Perfect Dork Studios has said its taken 6 years for the retro platformer game Blade of Betrayal to be the game it is today and to get to the idevice. Garretson was heavily influenced by games such as Castlevania, Mega Man and Metroid when he first went about creating Blades of Betrayal. The NES reminiscent action sidescroller began its journey in 2002, first finding itself on the Pocket PC. BoB even won Action Game of 2003 from a pocket game publication, but how does it hold up on the mighty iPhone/iPod touch?
Let’s rewind to 1996 shall we? 12 years ago, I had an archaic Packard Bell Desktop Pentium that ran at a snail’s pace of only 75 MHz, but I played lots of games on it. One of those games was Wolfenstein 3D. This game was unlike any other PC game I had played before because it had this new gaming experience of first person perspective! Since the character in Wolfenstein had a gun, this became better known as FPS or First Person Shooter. I was instantly mesmerized by this graphic wonder of FPS!
