Ragdoll Blaster in Review – Misfired?
At first glance this game has the simplistic feel and look that I tend to enjoy in iDecive games. in fact, this one particularly reminded me of Doodle Jump and Crayon Physics, both of which are incredibly fun and intuitive games. With high hopes, I fired this app up and boy was I disappointed. The cannon was loaded with a ball of potential, its aim perfect, and its fuse lit… but there was no boom. The cannoneer misfired with Ragdoll Blaster.
Baseball ’09 in Review – A Whole Different Kind of Game
As one of the biggest fans of America’s past-time, I was indeed excited to try out Spinfast’s Baseball ’09. While Baseball ’09 does show glimpses of potential, I can’t help but feel like I played an incomplete game with very different set of rules.
MLB.com At Bat 2009 in Review – This is the year!
It’s that time of the year again: the smell of fresh cut grass, pine tar, hotdogs, and adult apple juice lingering in the air. It’s only fitting that MLB released MLB At Bat 2009. I think most sports fans remember last year’s painfully bad At Bat 2008, however I have good news… 2009 is a new year for your team and the MLB at Bat franchise. While the program still serves the same function, the layout is much improved and one highly requested feature has been added.
Jeopardy! in Review – This… is… Jeopardy!
I’m a long-time Jeopardy! fan and so was excited to see Sony release it in the app store. Even if you don’t like the show, Jeopardy! is a great trivia game. From the opening screen where Johnny Gilbert announces “This is Jeopardy!” to the final Jeopardy! music track and and encouraging, cheering audience, this is a great Jeopardy! experience that thrills. When you first start the game, a big Jeopardy! sign pops up with smaller blue screens in the bottom. For those that don’t know (Bueller? … Bueller?), in Jeopardy! you are given a category (i.e. Medical, Movie Characters) and the “answer” (Robin Williams played this zany doctor), and your goal is to come up with the question (Who is Patch Adams?). So whenever I reference the “answer” in this review it’s really the question in the regular sense of the term and vice-versa.
Diamond Islands In Review – An ancient puzzler with style.
The goal in Diamond Islands is to roll a rectangle into a square hole by rotating it. That’s it. What makes this particular app different than others of its type is its charming story. A Native American peasant is in love with the Chieftain’s daughter. Daddy finds out and bars them from seeing each other ever again. The gods object and make stars fall from the sky, putting them in danger. The young peasant embarks on a journey to fix the stars (and hopefully win daddy’s approval).
