Control Insect robots from your iPhone and iPad
Sure we’ve seen plenty of iPhone controlled helicopters in the past (like the HELO TC Assault) and even the wacky Sphero ball, but what about insect robots? Brought to you by iHelicopters, an online reseller specializing in i-remote toys and gadgets, the iPhone controlled Beetle and Bug puts you in the driver’s seat of these creepy mechanical critters. By plugging in an IR transmitter into your iDevice and using the free i-Robot app, you’ll be able to move them all about from a distance of up to 6 meters away. Sadly, you won’t be able to make them fly, but just making them crawl near your girlfriend should scare them plenty.
Both the transmitter and insect can be charged via the included USB cable, with the former good for 40 mins of play time, and the latter 20 minutes. The Bettle and bug each go for $39.99 and with Halloween just around the corner, this unique remote controlled gizmo should help scare away the kids when you start running low on treats. Just be warned though – I highly doubt that they’ll survive a good stomping from unsuspecting individuals.
